Does anyone know of any nice big roundabouts, with smooth tarmac in the Sydney area? :confused1:

You're prob better off finding a nice bend in an industrial area, that way you go there after hours & there wont be any cars (traffic)....:ayyy:

I just go to a big coldersac, or how ever you spell it, in an industrial area. Like on a Saturday or a Sunday when no ones there.

Or you could try Eastern Creek, Oran park, Wakefield park etc.
The Industrial area sounds the go for a few sneaky knee down runs

After hours bit retail car parks

Roundabouts where I learned my knee down trade - trouble was when I hit the track and encountered a left hand corner I had no idea how to go round it !! lol

The roper rd carlisle ave round a bout (just off the m4 colyton)has been recently re tared so it's nice and smooth but a little bit small i'de say for what you want.

The Kingsford death trap is a big one....but not many people know how to use it properly so make sure you do it with little to no traffic....Corner of Anzac Pde/Bunnerong Rd Kingsford...2 lanes all around!

Or go do the loop at La Perouse....can get your left and right knee down (going one way or the other)....just watch out for the popo!....oh...and the abos!

haha I do that one 3 or 4 times a week, try and line up a space but find I get a good run only once a fortnight at best. Too much traffic. Your right though, nice and smooth

The nice big one right behind Eastencreek where the Go kart entry isn't too bad... Also the new very smooth entry ramp from Berowa heading south.

Careful, if you run it wide you have no run off as the round about never opens back up.

+1! I don't think they get much bigger than that.
Just make sure to go there after 10pm or you will find too many cars around.

Getting a knee down on the road is asking for trouble! I keep my knee down action for the track! :shifty:

+1, I don't go looking for places on the road. As much as I would like to get it down, I save it all for the track. Not worth the risk.

He just flipped the picture's horizontal axis. ;)

With the exception of a few corners on my way to work I don't actively search for places to get my knee down on public roads.

Road surfaces rip the crap out of your sliders, not like a nice smooth track.

I don't think you could concentrate on a roundabout.....too risky...

Magic roundabout??

You must be talking about Canberra :ayyy:

Some big ones down here, only problem is Canberra drivers who think that on a three lane roundabout you can turn right from the far left lane :confused1:

My first was in the RNP, put new leathers on and told myself im not coming home till i get my knee down. For some reason im much more comfortable at lefts, maybe the head near/in the head on zone worries me on rights

Prince William Drive @ Seven Hills

If you are ever in the area go check it out check it out on google and google maps street view goood mix of corners with on camber and off camber corners....we used to go when double demerits were on for photos. Idustrial well off the main road and it is very dead on the weekends - especially sundays

You go there too?? That used to be an awesome hangout with some mates. Still is actually. I live just around the corner from that indust. park. I make it a rule to break in every bike i get there! Awesome corners and never any traffic on the weekends. The occasional security car will drive in and tell you to move on though.

There is a big round a bout behind Bunnings at Bankstown Airport. Its a good surface and it doesn't get used because the buildings that it links to haven't been finished. I drove around it in my car and was thinking about a practice.

No good mate,

The cops know about it, bikes have been booked there, & too much traffic even on weekend with all the freight trucks coming in & out of the airport...:(

Stupid and determined i think was more the motivation. There are 2 2km sections which are quite well serviced they are just mainly blind

What would they book you for? Speeding, neg driving, incorrect use of a round a bout? and what ever they felt like probably

Milperra uni carpark at the back near the tennis courts. As your about to drive over the M5 bridge you can see it. I used to use it to practice my wheelies on my pushbike.
