Just read in AMCN that Matho has moved on from the Editor's role and Matt Shield's will be taking over.

Alex Gobert has also taken on a more hands on role with road testing & feature writing. I'm sure AG23 will advise more.

They need to give Kel Buckley more of an opportunity to impress.

I spose Sheildsy is the obvious choice.I would like to see more of Sam Mac testing bikes & less of sir Al.

Hiya Bart :)

Boris will have his licence back soon so we can expect some readable bike reviews again.
I usually read AMCN in 5 minutes at Woolies then put it back on the shelf.
Takes me 10 minutes if Boris is writing. I'd never buy it, not worth the money.

Speaking of Sir Al, how is the Ace Cafe Racer he tested. Man that bike looks uncomfortable to ride, talk about rear sets :hatter:

Well trust me to be the dissenter (well kind of) here but I haven't bought AMCN for years as IMO it has gone downhill in terms of journalistic quality (some, not all) nor does it really cater to the market where my interests lay.

To me, it as a magazine is heavily focused on the sportsbike market (a very large market sector in this country) and/or the Harley cruiser market. So instead, I buy magazines that are tailored for the market in which I have the interest.

That said, it doesn't make it a crap magazine in any way, just not one that I spend money on but good luck to the new editor as that role is difficult at the best of times, never mind in a shrinking market (economically)

AMNC is hit-and-miss with me, and mostly miss. I find that all the "news" is redundant because it all gets posted here, crash.net, racing organisation websites, etc. Then the "journalism" is either:
- Wow, the newest race bike is the newest and the best (10 pages of drivel that Superbike does 10 times better)
- Oh, by the way, we review dirt bikes and supermotos too, for half a page :crysmiley: and even that's pretty much verbatim from the product's website.
The race summaries are pretty good but if I could watch the races online, they wouldn't be necessary (not their fault I know but I wish someone would rectify this).

Also, I got into Superbike (UK) which I believe is far superior. And then I discovered PB which is the _best_ albeit different which is why I still read Superbike.
