The past 4 days has been a bad one for stacks, just one's that I have seen. Firstly on Sat near Dural Macca's, someone lying in the gutter next to a fairly broken looking yellow and gold gixxer, in a neck brace and with the ambo's being very cautious on moving him/her (i think it may have been a chick).

Then last night, 200 metres from my house, a guy on a TL blows a tyre coming into a roundabout, drops it, and ploughs into the side of a car that was coming into the roundabout from his left. Funny thing is I always watch super carefully through that roundabout, cause people come in from teh left without even looking. This guys tyres were on canvas (literally), so I would say he saw this car coming, hit the brakes hard and his tyre burst because it was on canvas. Worst thing was, t shirt, no gloves, no boots. He apparently just went to the shops to get some ciggies (I saw him leaving the local shops as I pulled in). More reason to wear your gear no matter where you are going, I know some people say "oh, I am only ducking down the shops, I won't bother". He had some hell road rash, a couple of broken ribs apparently, not sure what else.

And then I just read about Dilbee's acco. Not good at all. Take care people, ride safe, and be cautious, seems as though some crazy drivers are on the roads at the moment....

I agree with all but the guy on the TL that one is his fault through and through the main point between you and the road is your tires they should be number one along with brakes.
I recently saw a guy on a Busa all blinged out but running on canvas patched tires along Wisemans ferry. Its a no brainer to most.

Fully agree with you mate, at no point do I think the car was at fault, nobody should be riding on tyres like that. BUT, I myself almost got taken out at the very same roundabout last Thursday, well, if I wasn't as aware of the car, I would've been, but as I said, I treat that roundabout with caution. There is no doubt that the cops will treat it as the bikers fault due to tyres, regardless of whether the car gave way or not, and insurance will definitely not pay up with tyres like that.

Had a guy turn up once when scrutineering at a race meeting with a bike that had canvas showing on the tyres.

He couldn't understand why we knocked him back.

When you :ninja:ride these days you got to be careful .
You need to anticipate what the car driver/drivers are going or going to do and plan on were your going to go if he does something stupid . :dohsmiley:

Always suspect they will .Don,t want to end up :Kat00: or dead

you dont use the middle of the tyre whilst racing. as long as the sides were all good!!

Rumour has it that the guy I wrote about at the top of the page, who crashed in the roundabout, passed away. I hope the rumour is not true, if it is, RIP, people take note, wear your gear, keep your bike maintained, the last thing we need is more road casualties....
