I've always wondered... how do they figure out what is the maximum lean angle they (bike manufacturers) are happy with. I have owned two hondas, and they both scraped the hero blobs on the bottom of the pegs. Kawa and Suzuki havn't come close so far. (for me) (( and have you seen the size of the blobs them on the older CBR1000s ? Bloody dangerous if you ask me ! ))

Yeah Kenny mine were very easy to grind (04 cbr1000) so I took them off. I've hit the pegs since just a couple of times so ground clearance probably isn't as good as other models. And yeah they were pretty fucken long ones.
As I learned at EC, if your scraping pegs your getting close to the limit. I probably took half an inch off both sides before I went for a slide.

Why are they longer on the right hand side than that of left hand side (on the older cbr's) ?.

Exhaust is on the right Johnny.
Remember ground clearance in a turn can be impacted by you as a rider, the more you get off the bike the less it has to lean, plus the quicker you steer at turn-in the less it has to lean. I.e. Grinding isn't a limit unless your hanging off properly (not just your arse but your upper torso too) and your steering very quick to your decided lean angle.
P.s. That's why "chicken strips" aren't a good indication.. a rider who understands steering and body position can have chicken strips yet go through the same turns on the same bike as others, faster and with lean angle to spare.

Mmm, I think this explains my whole 'can't lean any further but people are much quicker than me' thing.
CSS for me I think.

Kenny your riding is on fire now. CSS will turn you into an unbeleavable rider. Im doing level 2 in to weeks. We are always learning and They are good teachers. DO IT.

youre not wrong there turtle
My trump has little 5mm bobs and the pegs are very high. If they are very long on your bike just take them off.

Clearance was always a problem with my old ZX6 with the standard pegs. Of course the earlier on the throttle you are helps with clearance as well.
