Im usually happy to swap if someone wants to try my bike, which isnt often...lol it is only a 600!
Today was a bad move tho....:dohsmiley:
Swapped bikes with Turtle on the Old Road, now not only do I want a '08/'09 Blade I have also seen what my bike is capable of....
After riding a GSXR1000K8 I didnt think I would ever want a litre bike, just way too heavy and bulky (for me :)) but from the first corner I was in love with the Blade. What a perfectly balanced bike!
Am I regretting riding it? YES because now I want one.
Do I regret letting Turtle ride mine? YES because he called it a 'cute toy' :lmao:

That's the way it often happens. Be careful what you wish for though ....
Do I regret letting Turtle ride mine? YES because he called it a 'cute toy' :lmao:
is that right? :lmao:
don't worry too much about it, a capable rider on a 600 (not me) would run rings around him and just about anybody else on a 1000. That's just the way it is, there's a good thread on 600 v 1000's if you do a little search.

I know, I kept telling myself that I would rather ride a 600.
Have you ridden the Blade Captain? Take one for a spin, you will want to upgrade :(
I love my bike...but ohhhh the torque of the 1000, was getting me excited :ayyy:

I don't even want to visit a dealer cause I'm afraid of what the simple sight of the Repsol Replica could do, let alone test ride it.:lmao:

Yeh his bikes hot, but 600's are just as fun once their up and running ;-) speshly on the old road.

Yes; I took one for a test ride when it first came out, then Alex was kind enough to let me ride his. The power is truly awesome, if I were doing more road riding I'd definetely be buying a 1000 too.
But I still prefer riding my bike .... I don't know why, it's hard to be rational about these things. When I tested the blade and the 600RR I did so back to back, and I knew immediately that I preferred the way the 600 rode.
But do yourself a favour and try all the 1000's; you might still end up buying the blade, but you'd sell yourself short if you don't test them all :ayyy:

Fully agree, but I was just amazed at how balanced and light it was. Riding it was so effortless. The distribution of weight is a big thing for me (yes, yes to compensate for my uneven distribution of weight :lmao:)
Well I can cross the Suzuki off my list, dont want to pay >$21K for a Yamaha, and Kawasaki just doesnt do it for me.
I still love our bikes Captain....little rockets!

Don't think they'll be group selling the Repsol... and even if they did I know better than buying one w/out a license. Or do I?!:n:

Try em all, youll go back to the blade because of the size and 600 feel.the other thous are still thou big and equally as powerful if not more so. The 600 is easier to ride in anger -theres no major scare factor and they feel lighter-Even if theres not actually much in it .Im not so sure a capable rider should be faster on the 600 than blade , If this was the case id hedge my bets they arent so capable after all, lets face it , the blade is faster , bigger brakes and the weights are similar-I dont see Stauffer doing better times on the R6 than the R1...??

I sometimes ride an 08 R1, it is so much smoother than my R6.... i often don't want to go back to the 600!
But after going back to the track on the 600, it's still my favourite :D

Just check out the times from WSB v's WSS. Only about 2 seconds difference around PI by all the top guys. (and that's a big bike track):ayyy:

I don't have that issue anymore. Finally got what i wanted. Although i did pull up next to a 1098rr the other day and felt a little smaller. But that quickly went a way as I can not stand ducati (I hope i did not offend any ducati people). It is nice to have a bike you like the look of and most of all feel so comfortable on. Good luck with the CBR search :ayyy:.

Yes well you can blame Falco, he started this......if i hadn't have ridden his i wouldn't have one and Alex shouldn't have ridden mine because now he has on..........and yes it is a cute toy, but can pull a wicked mono !!!!!

Yes and the same capable rider will be quicker on the litre bike, it comes down to the type of tarmac, a tighter road/track is better for the 600......something with longer straights will suit the litre bike where it can "Stretch" its legs....
Have you ridden the Blade Captain?
Yes he has and he handed it back to Alex because it scared him......:lmao:

Yes i have covered the seat in Clingwrap so it lasts !!!!!
Thats the way i got my VTR swap bikes with a mate and fell in love with the bike

I had an 08 CBR thou for about 5 months. Had to sell it after a bad accident on a work bike... Now I have my ute, I'm getting a 954 tracky. Wish I could afford another 08 blade for my tracky.... Even though i'm 202cm and 140kg's, it's stil the best 1000 i have ridden... the most comfortable and light bike... it felt really small but was still really easy to ride, even for my size....

Turtle keeps offering me a ride on his bike. I won't do it. Last time I rode one of his bikes I went out & bought one. I'm sure that would be the case again.

FWIW the blade is not 'scary', I did ride a blackbird for a while and it wasn't exactly slow. What happened is that I approached a turn (just past Albion Park) in my normal way and at my normal speed, but the bike went very wide on exit. I wanted to enjoy the twisties, and not wanting to damage somone else's bike, nor hurt myself so I though it best to give it back.
Belinda

I could have stayed on the bike forever, but same as you Captain, I would have died if I had have damaged his bike. Plus it started raining as soon as I got on it, and stopped when I handed it back....:cursing:

The K7/8 1000 need "muscle" to steer in stock form.
One of my mates is having a shit load of trouble with his 08 1000rr. The cam position sensor is faulty and cuts off down hills. 4 week wait for the parts.
Now he has another problem, smoke out of the exhaust! Not good news for a 3 month old bike.

I must say i innocently thought when i bought my 848, sweet as new bike means im not buying someone elses problems....yeah right:confused1:
All i did was buy ducati's problems, its 4months old and already been back with an oil leak once. Luckily only minor probs so far but still its brand fricking new it shouldn't have any problems.
I just love the bike too much to admit i should of spent my money on the new blade, which i still havn't test riden for obvious reasons.

A mate of mine had his New 1098S back to fix three different oil leaks too.......and that was the the Start of his probz........ at least you admit your problems, usually Ducati owners pay the extra $1.00 and get the Ducati "Denial" pack thrown in.........
