My blade looks massive compared to today's bikes of the samish size cc
I had a seat on a new blade it felt so small the boss will never get on the back the pillion seat on mine is small enough.
OOpps I sound really old now "back in my day"

Yeah I was thinking exactly the same yesterday as I saw an old '98 Fireblade like the one I used to own! It's a bloody huge thing compared to the new R6s and such. My 7R is fairly tankish too...

They dont just look smaller, they are, and the weight difference is all the proof you need.
My ex bikes, 96 gsxr 750 ( srad), and the K6 thou, side by side.
750 weighed 198 kg, K6 168 kg :hatter:

So on the track the smaller the better but the big question is which is more comfortable on the road.

Comfort ?New v's old ?, not a question that needs asking as answers itself.
What does need asking is, which is built to last ?, not the new, I know that.

I did mean it goes without saying that the newer bikes are more comfy ;)
Just not built as strong as the older ones.:confused1:
Your 954 could take triple what the 08 could, If the 08 blade took what your 954 did, it wouldve snapped in half for eg. Same as my srad and the K6, K6 did p[ractically snap in half :lmao:

Johnny how would you know ??? Just because your K6 snapped in half at 25kph .....doesn't mean the Blade would, Hondas build quality far exceeds Suzuki my friend......:mod_smilie_rockwoot I have owned both the 954 and now the new one and the build quality is as good or better

LOL, River of denial breaks its banks again...:lmao:
MY thoughts are that all new bikes are no were near as strong as the bikes they once were. My 08 R1 included, If I was too come off on that, it wouldnt take much to write it off either. Be honest with yourself, 08 blade wont take much to write that off either.

its " de nile is not just a river in africa" or to that effect!
river of denial breaks its banks.... maybe some may get it but not all!!!
but i am with you too on this build quality.... actually the materials they use are not as tough as the years gone by!!!
lighter ,faster does have it drawbacks....
do we want it (lighter faster) of course we do!!!
