What are you using for finish coat ?
yes and no dazz
my fairings arent as good as they look mate
i just repaired them good enuff so they wouldnt fall off
those primer patches on mine hide big holes and cracks
and fiber glass on plastic dosnt really work to well
my intention was allways to relace them with after market or good sound second hand ones

Hmmmm,I might go back to acrylic......Much cheaper & easier then 2pack....:ayyy:
i wouldnt say that jase
two pack is far better and easier than arcylic
and far better gloss off the gun, spraying two pack is damm near the same as spraying enamel

muzz i just had a fantastic idea...
after such a sterling job on both bikes, i believe you should take them out for there first sessions on the 25/4

Yeh, But not if you do it @ home......It get difficult without the right facilities & gear...

Too much movement in these fairing to use 2-pack.....you'll end up with stress cracks all through it.....
muzz what are you using to mask the areas for different colours? Acrylic doesn't dry quick enough to allow anything stickier than a bandaid without ripping it up unless you wait for it to fully dry before sticking it.

The resin & gel coat will crack way before 2 pack will....

mate the paint shouldnt lift off unless theres something wrong under it
i left the colour dry around half an hour befor masking it out ,i used vinyl
fine line tape (which keeps clean edges)then papered off the rest of the areas
with narmal masking tape:ayyy:
Yeh, But not if you do it @ home......It get difficult without the right facilities & gear...
jace if you can spray enamel you can spray 2 pac (well i reckon anyway)
only thing that scares me about painting it in a shed is dust in the job
if yas need any pointers give me a shout :ayyy:

Thats what I ment about more difficult to do 2pack at home, plus heating, etc....
nooooooooo the gel coat is the first epoxy part of the fairing layup,
but 2 pack is harder than acrylic but it is very flexable, normal flexing of the fairing not damage the paint untill the fiber glass cracks

not sure

yes and no
2 pack will run no easier than enamel if you use a fast hardener, it makes it alot easyier
the trick is not to pull you trigger on your gun fully it puts far to much paint on
i only use prob half trigger and just slow down and watch the paint flowing on
its a bit hard to explain its just a feel thing
next time you do one ill show ya mate:ayyy:
ahhhh.....my painter does an acrylic paint and some type of flexible clear coat
no you dont need that shit man unless your painting somthing really flexable
like some old spoilers on cars that where sort of a rubber stuff

A misunderstanding.....I know how to paint.....Im just trying to say what a pain in the arse it is to use 2pack @ home compared to acrylic & air dry enamel.....
Thanks for the offer though....:ayyy:
The only problem I have is that I don't do it often enough......tend to forget that feeling after a while.....you know what I mean?

Great job muzz, the only thing I can't do is paint just have the little kid syndrome of touching before dry or applying to much & causing runs.
