Sorry, no vid or pic's. Phone was out of batteries.
Pat medcalf was testing his 09 R1 SSTK, he said the bike needs a bit of work but what can you expect for something thats a week old.
There was a road bike there, with what looked like slicks crusing around in the 37's. Pro riders make it look so easy!
Amy got a new 09 r6, had a few set up issues but was managing 41's on a superstock bike tearing tyres. Couldnt offer her any help as yamaha have contracted it to someone (seems political). I set up a friends R6 doing the same times on stock forks last weekend and he will atleast get to wear the tyres out before they tear (at that point who gives a fuck anyway).

Nope, factory teams hire the track too! Always have! Even privateers will pool money and hire the track for the day

I mapped the R6's before they went out there......Just finished doing another one for the Island next week.... can't wait to see the R1.
Can't wait to see how the R1 stacks up against the regulars in Aussie Superbike trim. I wonder if it will be down on horsepower compared to the others in these early stages of development? Seems like it will make up for it in drive off the corners etc. Will be good to watch.

So can we hire it out for a RATS day only - you guys are a registered company - corporate booking right so its not a ride day????? Not braking any commercial contract agreements!!!!

Maybe 50-60 members for it to make financial sense then - sure this would be snapped up by RATS if Vinnie feels like organising another RATS only day ??

Getting the numbers to do it wouldnt be an issue. There was over 60 booked for this sat the 21st, for e/c combined with o/p on same day. Many missed out too.
I've heard EC was around $7,500 for a weekday last year, but that's only pit whispers - not directly from the circuit.

You will need either of these to run it..also ARDC and Brouggy wont allow any private or public company run any motorcycle event if its deemed to be a general Ride day or school that's similar to what they run in partnership together.
(Remember competition is not allowed at EC these days, what if someone offered a better run event than they do?
Cant give the punters a choice anymore....)
Budget for $10,000 as medical is $1500 per day flag marshals $440 plus course control, MA permit fee plus rider levy or $20,000,000 public liability insurance @ $10,000 to $25,000 pa depending on years in business running these events etc if at all!!!
