Hey Max, have fun. Unfortunately i stuffed up and put it in the calendar for the next week and my wife booked us in at Katoomba Saturday night for dinner and a stay over with friends this weekend. So in a clash of diaries I lose.
The Formula OZ is running on the same grid as Formula Xtreme, hope you and that old 600 have eaten your wheaties!
I'm probably going for AMCN. You guys hear anything about entry numbers yet? Is it gonna be a big one or quiet event you think?

Hiya Max, Good luck with the racing......My bike will be up at Tex's getting a little love and attention ! If the racing is this weekend coming then its going to be hot, seriously hot, they are forecasting 42'C sheeeesshh scorching. If you are racing in the formula OZ / extreme classes ( only class our bikes can run in by the way ) then you might want to take a tow rope !!! see if you can attach it to a litre bike and see the look on their faces as you screech past em on the brakes !!!

Thanks Stu, not looking forward to the heat but just have to take it as it comes, might just have to look into that idea of a tow rope :)
yep I'm in the fomula oz class so its going to be mad just the way I like it and the heat could help a lot to with the bigger bikes over working their tyres :n:
It should be fun

Guys, I hope you have a great time, just be careful with the heat.......its only the 1st meeting of the year, and as Slac says, they are going to reduce the laps maybe ... How slippery does EC get in the extreme heat ??

They did have a fine for entering series and practice to factory riders the infamous rule 49 that looked designed to stop people entering formula xtreme and others, but i thought they threw this out. Given i have also entered round 1 of ASBK at the WSBK in 3 weeks as well, I'd be pretty surprised to see a fine for the punters, how are they ever going to make factory riders look good if they fine the back markers. The ASBK pay factory riders some kind of appearence fee so they can deduct that I guess if they think they are disloyal, but fat chance i'd pay a fine, I'd just switch to racing go karts.

Ok, they accepted my entry and I have just about finished race prepping ZRoys bike, everything drilled and attached, only gotta sort out some number plates with kids book laminate. Max I am in the same garage as you I believe.
popped out there for a looksie today, looked like hard work... The car temp said 43C.. A few crashes at T2 & T9.. I think i saw a yellow blade (wetty i think) catching up with a Kwaka at T2.. Didnt look pretty.. Care to alabarate?? Much damage?
Pretty harsh words on there site :ticketgrumblesmile:*** Nos. 69 (Paul GRANT-MITCHELL) and 10 (Mark HATCH) REMOVED FROM FINAL COMBINED RESULTS AS CAUSE OF RED FLAG ***

Sounds like a load of crap to me!
I remember in 2006 AMCN radared Shawn Giles Factory Suzuki 284 KPH and the next was one of the factory Honda's at 282 kph
So now were so now were supposed to believe that every privateer and his dog can smash through the 300 barrier.
Although I guess it looks good in Terry's press releases....
Stu23
08-02-2009, 06:14 PM
Theres a few factory teams lining up for a quick tune up now I reckon :) These privateer bikes are real quick aye !
I dunno????
If a bum like me can hit 273 @ the 300m marker on a stocko 07 R1 with shitty exit....I reckon they wouldn't be far off it.

That's all I've got to go off, Jai.
I know the 'ol 10% rule, but that's +/- ...in it???
But as far as comparos goes, the 03 6RR is no where in the fast lane in a straight line. 230 @ 150 mark.
And it's way noticeable on board too....the sphincter muscle goes into overdrive on the R1 ..:lmao:

Was out at the track today checking out the bears f2 class.
Alot cooler than yesterday, still bloody hot to race in.
Congrats to all those that entered and had good weekend and to those that took time to chat.
I look forward to racing with you later in the year.
Some of the entries were a bit low. 16 bikes combined from C&D superstock to make a grid.
Top day, glad I risked the heat.
Also anybody can use the ARDC area above the pits which was airconditioned and a good spot to watch the racing.:ayyy:
speeds are a bit out my bike tops out 280ish on dyno so not 300 as qouted
