I went into the garage today to look at my poor battered baby after yesterdays mishap.I noticed the exhaust cans where rashed ,which reminded me how people keep asking me how to repair their cans,So i thought I'd do a quick step by step can repair. So you can give it a go yourself...

After removing the end can from the pipe by unbolting or slipping off. Drill out the rivets around the can.Use something soft in the vice jaws to protect the can skin from getting marked or dented.

After removing the rivets,at this point there is no need to try & slip the end off,as the damaged part will be getting cut off any way.You can if you want though.I marked 5cm from the end of the can (damaged area) then warped masking tape all the around for a guide wen I'm cutting. You can use a hack saw,but a grinder with a nipping wheel is much easier.

So, after you unwrap the fiberglass packing form the perforated pipe, you must remember to cut the perf pipe 5cm to suit the same cut section as the skin of the can...
p.s use a dust musk wen unwrapping the glass matting from the perf pipe ( that shit is bad for you)

cutting 5cm off to match the same lenght as the skin

After cutting the 5cm excess of perf pipe you should be able to slide it back over the end can section (end cap). It should fit on nice & snug,if its too loose I would recommend welding it or it will end up rattling. After this is all done its time to put it all back together..

15 minutes later you have can that looks good as new & you've just saved your self $500-$1000 for a new one.:ayyy:
