Work has started around Oran park raceway today, 7000 homes to be built, police station, shopping centre etc, to be completed in 12 months..
Have never done Oran Park track, I think I'd better before its gone for good :(

Apollogies though, have already committed to marshalling ECRD for this date , I knew I was forgeting something and that date seemed to ring a bell :dohsmiley: .
Offer very much apreciated Vinnie, but its a hell out of your ways, wouldnt want to bourden you with that, plus the fact I absolutely love what I do at the creek and have already comitted prior this.

Read in the newspaper today that the project could be in some serious troubles, the financiers might be pulling out (global financial crisis). We've been thrown a lifeline a few times already, I certainly don't wish to see any more economic woes but keeping OP as a track for a little longer is A-OK by me :ayyy:

Ride day with Champions a couple of weeks ago they said they were told its closing June next year. Lot could happen either way in the meantime

Yeah but who will pay to up-keep a racetrack that has a potential of being developed into a housing estate. OP will die a horrid slow death.

You're not saying the track may become rough and power cut out in the garages constantly are you! That couldnt possibly happen....:stirthepot:

I reckon once the houses have been moved into we get all the RATS and do very fast laps around the estate ??? Let them know its still OUR racetrack......

I'm with Captain here, the longer it's around, in whatever state it is, is a bonus to me.. Shame that such a historic track in Australian motorsport is getting the chop.
