I'm unsure mate - I have not yet formed an opinion because i'm still reading through the 8000 pages regarding the same topic in the other thread......:stirthepot:

We won't be getting that colour, that's the US colour.
I will be upgrading from the R6 to a black 09 R1 early next year ;)

Can't wait for Akrapovic to release the new exhaust!!!!

Even better head out to cycle city on saturday to check out a few 09 R1's :D

Yeah..not a fan of the zorsts... looks a lot like the poxy '06/'07 Zx10 ones..
I'd piss 'em off & get the GP style 'stubby' one. On a positive side, it should eat the rest on the road though!

all i hear is how bad the exhausts are, i personally am unsure till i see the real thing, but i think if you change the exhaust ( which is the first thing people do ) it will look sick as. i think ill be up grading when i get the dosh. i also think i think alot.

Yep, as stated in other threads, I hate the backend. But I also hated the 04 model when it came out cause in my opinion, the backend looks like shit. Yamaha certainly don't do the underseat exhaust as well as some of the other manufacturers, it's a small part of the reason I own an 02/03 shape, cause that was the last of the nice backend setup.

Not in this case. IMO it looks worse in the flesh. 07 / 08 look the nicest.

Those pipes would look better about 6 inches shorter so the top tip is flush with the tail light!

I'm going for the 08 GSX-R750 when I can afford one!

08 ZX-10R is phenomenal and will make any rider feel like god.... compared to the 04 which scares the shit out of me..

zenodamper
08-12-2008, 12:48 AM
Yup, the 08 ZX10R will make any rider see god when they accelerate and feel the front glancing off road-top imperfections - small hydro-lock problem happening there! :lmao: (quite liked it with a little work done but)

...and no dissing the Lorikeet (CBR1000RR) - it may have a soggy rear end; but that motor runs really nicely (me thinks), churning good usable power out and down off the corner - actually quite an impressive bike! Not blistering fast as stock in a straight line; but probably flies through the tighter sections ...and haven't they come along way with their fuel inj. since the F4i! :D

Pretty close RATS666 but the other way around. The designer has a perfect vision of a perfect bike and the engineer comes along and makes it weight to much and have not enough power and be uncomfortable to ride and and and

Here it is with new Akra slip ons, claimed to raise power from 161 to 164 bhp

http://www.motorcyclenews.com/upload/218431/images/dec%2022%20akrapovic%20(2).jpg

I really want to see a picture taken from the back though.

xcabbi
26-12-2008, 08:41 AM
Them slip ons need to be a few inches shorter and they would look mint.

drukenhard
26-12-2008, 08:46 AM
+1....if they were shorter you could get rid of the spaceship hanging off the back and use an integrated tail light/blinker set up (can't see it from the side like this, and that's from an angle that a car would kill you!)

OutOfControl
26-12-2008, 12:43 PM
If you're looking for a shorter exhaust and know what to do with tools you could always cut it down to size yourself :ayyy:

That is definitely on the cards for this type of bike.
