Hi looking at getting the Mrs a rider training course i have looked at the stay upright ones which look good. Also looked at the HART courses.
She is currently on her P's for another 8 months or so but needs some improvement to step up onto a bigger bike. She is fine on the road for general riding but needs improvement on cornering and braking at a quicker pace.

So who has or know anyone who has done either of these couses and some feedback would be great.

So; where's that riding school comparison gone off to?

I've done the Stay upright advanced (Cornering and braking level II) and can vouch for it......I learnt more there in one day than other courses i've sampled.

My only criticism is that it covers a lot in a day (2 would be better) but the level of instruction from Wayne Clarke and the boys is benchmark stuff. They teach both road and race techniques on the day, as well as emphasizing the differences between each.

Well worth it.

Also California Superbike School is good (the drills are very effective) but are clearly aimed at track techniques so it may/may not suitable to her needs.

There should be a comparison guide set up by JasonBW in one of the forums here...

Hope it helps,

jdw

Hi,

I've done stay up right Advanced 1 while on my Ps and it was just what the doctor ordered. You get to practice braking, bike control and cornering at above street speeds. Very confidence building course.

Cheers,
