An interesting read. Do we get all these tyres here too?

Actually, scratch that. The above is still a very interesting read, but a little out of date. The new report is here: http://www.zinio.com/express2?issue=206338267
I do wonder though, would the results be as equally relevant to a mid-sized bike (600cc)? If you read the first test -the out of date one - you will notice that the same tyre is rated significantly different between the 1000 and 600cc bikes.

Currently I've Racetec K1/K2 on my bike and I think it's great. Much better than the OEM set of Supercorsas on my bike. I only got to enjoy 4 sessions previous weekend on them. But I can't fault them, you wouldn't want to use them in the wet. Also in Australia you can't get K3, which is the hard compound.

The only way to know which tyre you like the best is to try them all.

If the Dunlops are like the 209 GP they'd be worth a look, i did the wet St George round at Wakefield with 209s and was overtaking bikes on wets(only had it try highside once:dohsmiley:) and keeping up with bikes on slicks when it dried :ayyy:

In my limited experience over the last 2 years since i started to do a lot more track days and a few d grade races, i fell in love with the Bridgestone 002's last year and thought they were the best tyre I'd used, I moved to the pirelli Super Corsa pro's because they were the control tyre for Superstock but just never really liked them, although everyone else seemed to like them. I've moved to the Dunlop GP Racer as it is the control tyre for Supersport now and think they are probably the best of the 3 for me, but it's been a while since i used the 002's and my lap times have changed a lot since then. Haven't tried the 209GP but I'd had dunlop qualifiers standard on the bike when i bought it around 2 years ago and hated them, couldn't get them off fast enough. By the way my bike is now 100% track use and I use tyre warmers, so not talking about street use, but used all the above on a damp track. I've also used both brigestone slicks and dunlop slicks over this time and like them both, for some reason i felt i liked the bridgestones more, slightly grippier but they also wear faster. If i got slicks again i'd go dunlop only because they are closer in shape and compound to the GP Racers, and I'd like to try and get used to a single tyre type as profiles etc are quite different, i think the dunlop slicks last longer than the gp racer on the track but not by much.

i would recomend the michelin pilot 2 c for overall good value good grip and good mileage ! the 2c standing for 2 compounds softer on the edges and harder down the middle of course

Those tests are old, but still relative. Its interesting how the K3 got a shit review, but they didnt mention the compound on the one that won the other test.

Still wearing the K1 front faster then the K2 rear.

The GP racers in the links arnt the same as the current crop.

But I have used them in pretty much every condition at EC and they are a very good tyre. Front lasts ages, rear not so much even on a 600.
