Well, Today i head out to check out the camping ground that Dunno suggested in the social night thread, the road are fine just stay at speeds between 45-55 km/h (what i did) and you'll be right.:ayyy:
on the way there i was just hovering above speeds of everyone else taking it easy, so no drama, On the way back well, it got the better of me, i opened my bike up, to say the least i came out of it alright, yes thats right i got done for speeding and now i've had my license suspended for 6 months, i was clocked at 173km/h, Im very grateful that it wasn't the max what i reach today. Yes, i could have run but he'd have gotten my plate, so i thought fuck it, might aswell bite the bullet, something had to slow me down, just sorry it was a $1589 fine.
Thanks to Black Iyce and Vinnie for trying to get some people together to help pick my bike up, you guys are tops, im glad im a RAT!
Take it easy out there people!

not good.. its for this same reason ive been thinking bout givin road riding the flick also..
$1600 is huge.. hope thats all it is, and no court appearance is nessacary..
still stand by the theory if you do ride on the road dont do it on DD's weekends.. just too many of them out trying to keep the states coffers on the very healthy side of positive:mad:

On all the stuff he gave me there was nothing that said court appearance.
Am i able to do something like a 1 point thing?

26-01-2007, 06:04 PM
dang, you is a bad boy. forget the 1 point thingy. if you get done again, you'll loose ya license for 12 months. I did a 6 month lose, after failing the 1 point for 12 months probation. just do the 6 months now. you'll be better off Jer.:ayyy:
_chado77
26-01-2007, 06:05 PM
i got no idea bout 1 point thing...
but i did think if you got caught doin say double the limit it usually ended in court:confused:
but i hope not..
Cleverlie
26-01-2007, 06:08 PM
I can just see it, i walk into court and straight away they are yelling KILL IT, KILL IT! :(
Yeah i'll just be doing the 6 months, Stay on the track, and if i don't do that, who wants to ride my bike atlest once a week?

Six months mandatory suspension for 45+
8 points with double demerits.
If you have accumulated 12 points + with this offense you will be eligible for the one point thing after your 6 has been served.
CYA at the track.
dungbeetle
26-01-2007, 06:32 PM
yeh i was gonna say the same as kat00. if youve accumulated more than 12 points youll get another 3 months holiday after the 6..:(

Mate what did i say last night!
Man that sucks but i feel for you, cause i know how much you love riding!
me, i'd still ride no matter if i was suspended, work means more to me.
Good luck dude, looks like we will see you at the track alot more, provided you can get the bike down there.
I'll ride ya bike to 500km a week if you want? When i can ride again?
Offers there mate?

hey cleverlie, i read the paper work that i got for doing over 45 over, and it said because it is an excessive speeding fine, you are not able to apply for a work liscence or any kind of liscence, you have to do the 6mnths suspension, sorry for the bad news mate, not that's 2of us off the roads at the same time, who's next? any takers??????:lmao:
MATTK6
26-01-2007, 08:02 PM
oh yeah, and theres only a court appearance if you dispute it.
The 1 point bizzo applies if you reach your 12 points, I suspect irrespective of how (unless it's manner dangerous resulting in fatality et al). Even so it's just an application for a 1 year probation, depending on your record they can knock it back at whim..
But on that token it might be worth pursuing as even though you were done and paying the price, if you manage a one year 1 point probation, you technically don't lose your licence. Losing licences stay on your record if you're ever going for PM or some such.
I can just see it, i walk into court and straight away they are yelling KILL IT, KILL IT! :(
Yeah i'll just be doing the 6 months, Stay on the track, and if i don't do that, who wants to ride my bike atlest once a week?
Man, the thought of your bike being unused without proper long term storage procedure gives me a twitch, particularly with such a fine curved beauty giggity http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/3183/emotquagmire5jg.gif. I'll gladly lend a hand to ensure the carbuncles keep at bay. :ayyy:

bleh, maybe i needed a break from riding.
Hit the 12 point mark, just hope my other offences cleared before all this, only have 3 other run ins (that i have recived something from) with the law.
So where do i get some race glass?

And for the offers to ride my bike, i'll them into serious consideration, if i can't get to the track.

i gotta say, so far my new glass is fitting nicely, the only prob is marking out and drilling the wholes in the right place:lmao:
but from what i can see, all i've got left to do is drill the holes for the pop rivots where the zeus fastners go, oh and trying to work out the new rear sets...:lmao:

26-01-2007, 08:55 PM
Sorry to hear about your run in with johnny law and i feel for ya mate because i have been in the same boat(four times). The thing you have to remember now is to stay off the roads,no matter how tempting it is you will only make it worse for yourself.I myself am on a probationary license and it sux's big time if you can do the extra three months and accumulate all your points back then do it.As for paying the fine do it as soon as you can mate,it will come back to haunt you if you don't.All the best mate and keep your chin up:ayyy:
Cleverlie
26-01-2007, 08:59 PM
Yeah, i'll be paying the fine asap.
And i wouldn't mind having my full points back so yeah, i'll do the 3 months.
Yeah its to bad i didn't crash instead of this, because then i could be going, Oh yeah, im going to get go fast bits! well i think this has been a massive reality check, its probably time to slow down on the main roads.

I've got a spare trailer out the front! its hardly ever used, its not really mine, more or less the families, i suppose you can fit 2 bikes in and it would be tight(6 by 8) oh, its a bit battered and bruised, but still great.

sucks too hear... but you definitely have a mandatory (read: no way out of it) suspension period. go to the rta website and search for demerits or speeding fines and it will show you all the details you need. As for the extra three months suspension you can check your points tally on the myRTA website. It takes 3 years to get rid of the points you have already accumulated so if you have lost four or more points in the last 3 years you will be over the 12 limit. So that means you will have to serve your suspension for excess speed, then serve the suspension for accumulated points (3 months for 12 - 15 pts, 4 months for 16-18, and 5 months for more than 18 points if i remember correctly) or apply for probationary license... good luck ... definitely been considering going track only for this very reason.
... if you can find a decent solicitor it may be worth talking to them. But it also may be a waste of money coz its all pretty straight forward.
see ya at the track.

Jordan has got it right.:ayyy:
Been there done that.
Also my back tire is at its limits for road legal tread, will i need to get a new one on it before i take it on the track?
Yes and 100% yes. The stress put on your tyres on the track are far greater than anything road (legal) riding will give it so they need to be in great knick, otherwise you'll be riding on canvas which'll lead to :headshake:

zx10r + double demerits = expensive holiday on public transport.
As mentioned, last time it happened to me I bought some race glass and went to the track. Never thought it would be this much fun!!
Been in that situation too, though I took the probationary option.
You're right, it is a wake up call.
It's way too easy to do those speeds on the road, that was one of the reasons I went track only.

Like all the guys said it sux that you got pinged but there is another option and that is trackdays. You will learn how to really ride your bike and speeding/riding flat out on the road loses it's attraction.

it really does lose its attraction and jus think they cant get you on the track.. hence the purpose of a trackday:)

I've basicly learnt how to ride my bike to its full potential. All i need now is some knee sliders to get my knee down, or maybe just grab some of those skating knee pad thingos.
Bigdog
27-01-2007, 05:04 PM
I don't mean to be smart or anything but you there is no way that you are riding your bike to it's full potential and the track is the perfect place to learn how to do it. Fast road riding and track riding are two completely separate things.
Cleverlie
27-01-2007, 05:06 PM
Well full potential for the road anyway, probably should have said that.

Yeah, ive just gotta decide if i should use the 10r or buy a different bike for the track, reason being is i think i'd miss the 10r to much if i made it a track only but on the other hand my license will love me for riding a 600cc on the road.

a 600 will do as much damage to your liscence as a 1000, hell even a trailie or motard has enough to get you done for 45k's and over
