Hi all, I've been sitting around lurking for awhile. Have recently bought Revins bike trailer and should soon have leathers so will hopefully be visiting the creek within the next couple of weeks / months.

Anyway myself and some other firestormers were planning to do superbike school, level 1. However, mono suggested we look at circuit breakers. We have a variety of riding levels from guys just getting back into road bikes to people like me who wanna learn a few more go fast skills.

So who's done what? And how did you find the day(s)?

Thanks guys, hopefully see you soon. :mod_smilie_rockwoot

ive done both...did superbike school level one before i was really into track days and found the stuff they taught me more helpful on the road rather than the track....but a few of their teachings were helpful on the track...

i ddi the cb's race school a few months ago after having done a bunch of track days and found it very helpful in getting my lines right at ec, and hints that made me a little faster...its really only aimed at people who wanna go faster at the creek...but i found it awesome, and heaps cheaper, and ya get timed laps!!:D

I do like discounts :) Sure i could recruit a few people over here if a discount was do-able.

CSBS has a discount of up too $40 per level when booking multiple levels so perhaps they would give rats a variation of this along the lines of the trackstar package ECRD offers.

I have done four superbike schools... level four is by far the best value. One on one instruction with as much track time as you can handle. Some of the parts of the previous levels i found really good. some not so amazing. But the instructors do know there stuff and it helps having them watch you as they can see what you are doing rather than what you think you are doing.

i also did a school with CB ages ago at WP. I do really like the timed laps/. and at the start of the day we did a track walk with glen allerton and shaun gilles which was really useful. But it was sort of left to asking questions if you wanted tuition after that. I saw on their website that they now do actual class room theory aswell which I think will be a big improvement. Plus the prices are alot better with CB so i would be interested in giving it another go.

Hey SAZ, I've only ASBS, which helped me emensly.
If you go into it (either ASBS or CB) with an open mind, thinkin you paid a shit load of money to be tought, you will learn heaps.
everyone picks up somethin different. you'll be glad you did either. ;)
see ya on the track biatch :ayyy:

Like Dungy I have done both. Superbike school level 1 gives you good cornering basics for mainly road riding and CB Race school is aimed at showing you the fast way around the track.

I'd be in on it. I think I'd prefer CB. I've seen the Superbike school DVD and read the book, so not sure it's the right thing for me...

G`day Saz, Haven't done CB`s but I have done ASBS L1&2.

Although a couple of others have said ASBS is more road riding orientated, I'd disagree with that somewhat.
No doubt, the things they they there are the basics. they work on the premise that there is no point going fast if you don`t get the fundamentals right.
If you do ASBS, they won't be showing you race lines, thats for sure.
It depends on your level of skill as to how much you get out of each level.
When you leave each level, its not the type of thing you just walk away from and you know it, you need to practice the principles and if you do that you will become a much, much better rider. If your not prepared to practice what they teach you, your wasting your money.

Yet to do a race school, my understanding is that they will show you the fastest way around the track.
I`m looking forward to giving that a go.
I'm also looking forward to completing L3&4 ASBS

Good luck Saz and :welcome: to RATs

I too have only just completed level 1 ASBS in December. I've been riding on and off for 20 years and must say I knew nothing prior to completing level 1. Although I was familiar with terms such as counter steer, turn in points, chicken arms and looking through the turn, I wasn't never quite sure how and in what sequence to apply these techniques. And when I did get a corner right it was only because luck and trying to replicated was frustrating. This tuition taught me the exercises step by step and in the last session they all came together in the right sequence to form one fluid movement. It made a massive difference to my riding. I much more confident and feel much safer.

Just do it, either one, doesn't matter, you'll learn heaps and won't be disappointed.

However, I'm keen on James's run school, just to see what proven racer's can teach you.
