Hi guys, I was looking at getting one of those nice little camera for mounting on my bike.
Initially I was looking at getting oneof those no-hussle models such as the Oregon Scientific ATC-2k, but after reading a few threads, including J-Rad experience with many different cameras clearly steered away from it.
At same time, those little bullet camera look too complicated to me..... you need the camera, batteries, microphone + a proper videocamera to record on and a a bunch of cables and connectors to put all the pieces together, hoping that everything works....... that's too much for me!
So I went back searching for an ALL-IN-ONE solution and found this

there's a sample video as well

GOPRO Motorsport
The world's smallest onboard wireless digital video camera, it is one of the cheapest units available and offers incredible picture quality. Waterproof, wireless and self contained this digital camera is quite incredible. What do you get with the camera? Not only the camera that shoots at 30fps with sound, but you also get multiple quick release helmet mounts that can also be applied to pretty much any surface, a suction cup that can be used inside or outside of a car/boat/bike and will withstand 150mph on an aeroplane (!) as well as a USB/RCA cable for fast download to a laptop or TV/VCR so you can see the action straight away
There is a special at the moment at 249 bucks + 10$ for delivery.
Anyone has seen this little toy around and has had any direct experience on video quality?
I'm sure sound is gonna be crap as any ALL IN ONE but I can live with that.
Dan,
The camera Mr & Mrs Bones had on the Oxley ride was fantastic and I think it was only $185. You should PM him for the details.

Seriously though, I thought those Oregon Scientific were the ones that riders were very happy with .... not so?
Otherwise, how about fitting your existing one to the tank? This one's for the blackbird here (http://www.cbr1100xx.ch/motorrad.htm), but there must be something similar for Triumphs

Yeah, they were pretty bloody good those things.
Quality of the footage was very good.
I nearly fell over when I saw they were powered by 2 AA batteries.
I`ll be getting 2....Thats for sure.

The Bones' have the scientific oregon cams. Good quality footage at a good price & they are as simple as pulling out the SD card & putting it in the computer... happy viewing.

Yup - as they guys have said, ours are the Oregon Scientific ATC-2K video/audio cameras, they take a 2G SD card which will take an hour of footage (and just plugs straight into the puter) and run on 2xAAs and measure 40mm x 110mm.
Obviously from the footage off Barts bike they are pretty tough little buggers - that was a high speed dismount by the camera (just wasn't strapped on properly), it must have flipped a few dozen times and got thrown bout 60m down the road....never even stopped filming! only a scratch on the plastic cover to tell the tale. $170 off ebay.

how did you mount the ATC2K on your bike? I've bought one but haven't got around to putting it on the bike yet. Are you able to take a photo of how you installed it?

The cameras come with a variety of straps to attatch them in different ways. There is a rubber on for putting it on your helmet, velcro ones - we used these to strap them on to oggy knobs, and a clamp one which we have used to clamp onto a pipe in the case of dunno's trackkie which doesn't have oggies.
they sit really well on the oggies and just use the strap and a few runs round with tape for added security. Its also best to sit them on a piece of foam for anti slip and less shock/bounce in the picture. They come with self adheisive thin foam strips but we have used thicker foam as well which is about 5mm thick.

This is a pic of a camera attatched to the radiator hose with the clamp attatchment.
