KTM Supermotard 690 SMC (2008)

Anyone have experience or comments on the KTM Supermotard 690 SMC (2008) (http://ktm.com/690-SMC.100198.20.html?&detailview=2&cHash=da62385a81) -- It's been *years* since I rode dirt and only ever streetbikes since then -- I'm keen to hear from anyone that has experience with this bike or similar on the street -- Motards seem like like the ideal bike for the kind of streets I live (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=East+Village+NY+USA) (at the moment) and perfect to get away from the city on though I'm concerned about fuel capacity and range...

The press have only just got their hands on the new 690's (SMC, Duke, Enduro) in the last week or two. No one else can tell you how they ride just yet :(

Talking to the KTM rep's at the bike show last year one of them was deadset that the SMC wasn't coming down under, the other wasn't sure. Dunno if it's changed or not, best ask a dealer. The enduro is said to have an optional hard parts big tank, hopefully it'll swap over onto the SMC. I think the projected price for the 690 Enduro was something rediculous like $14k + ORC.
