Hey Everyone,

Just thought I would give the heads up regarding a new undercover HWP cop I saw patrolling the Bondi Junction area yesterday.
Its a gold Falcon FPV with illegal tints. Fully kitted with cameras all round, radar etc etc.
There is also a dark Blue XR6 also tinted that was patrolling the Old Road 2 weeks ago.

So did we. My mate got booked at 15-30, whilst the guy couldnt show him a radar reading, he estimated his speed and wrote a fine.
Funny thing is how these guys tailgate bikes. Both of these were sitting at about half a meter behind myself and then other bikes, which to me indicates they are looking to provoke you into speeding forward, to book you.

Makes you wonder if a rear facing on board camera would stand up in court? Tail gateing is against the law. If you could prove that you sped up to avoid the clown who you thought was about run you down, would the charges be dropped & could you pursue legal action against the cop? :confused1:

That is a good question. I have seen it happen numerous times, 2 weeks ago when my mate got booked on the old road, the cop, before chasing him down sat right on my tail for a few km's.
i think the biggest problem would be obtaining the tape.. I am not sure about the laws regarding those videos, are they continously recording, without possible interruption by the cop?
If that is the case, then I think you would have a higher chance winning it in court once you obtain the footage from them.

I doubt it, I remember as a kid there were a lot of hoons in our street that used to do burnouts in the street. I thought it was awesome but the neighbours didn't and they videoed it to take to the cops. The cops said that the video tape was useless in court, and that the police actually had to witness the event.

What if the vid showed the number plate looming up behind & sitting on your tail? They couldnt deny it was the cop. How can they submit vid as evidence & we not? Any lawers out there who can help?

Maybe we should approach that Stenberg fellow & ask him to join up & answer a few Qs? Would be a great asset to the site.

That doesnt make sense, because if that were actually true, then none of us could be witness to a crime.
Seems to me that those cops were too lazy to do anything about it.
Still though, I find it rediculous the tactics employed by HWP to get their quotas.
Displaying P-plates on their vehicles, lowered high performance vehicles, with illegal tints, stickers etc....
But then to tailgate, so a motorcyclist speeds up, now that needs to be punished.

I have had a cop tailgate me before, just pull over which they will obviously do the same let them do a licence check and a go over the bike if you were not doing anything illegal then no issues.

Max from the cafe, sped up from a cop who sped up as well, he got busted for 140kph for not wanting to be run over.

Cops will do anything to pull over a bike as we are seen as easy prey especially on the old road

But what I want to know is, say he tails you for some bull distance, you pull over, he pulls over. Checks over your bike etc. Then issues some bull fine, number plate, neg riding, whatever.
Other than spending big on a lawyer, is there anywhere in this country you can turn to, given you now request his camera footage, and expect charges, action to be taken against them for this tactic??
It is not a legal/safe etc way to police.
Double standard m/f'ers.

I would pay a bull fine knowing that he will be f'cked for his behaviour, but currently there is no such means available... or is there?
