Wakefield Circuit

Hi Everyone

Excuse the question but still a newbie and trying to catch up :)

Do you organise trackdays at Wakefield, and if so whats it like ?

Fast and flowing or a little slower but more technical ?

I think i have read its just been re surfaced, was is very bad before this ?

Just wondered :)

Hi Stu, they have resurfaced it and apparently nade a couple of changes so it "Flows" better and "the cars are now 2 seconds a lap faster" ( I have no idea if "the cars" are V8's or Holden Astras!) the course wasn't too bad in my opinion with the only really sphincter puckering bit being the braking area at the hairpin coming back onto the main straight where there were a lot of ripples just where you wanted to get on the brakes hard.
Here is some video of the track from when I raced there at the 1 hour, this is before the reseal obviously!

Thanks for posting the videos. Were you doing a 1 hour race ? That would be great, but knackering........

The circuit seems a mixture of medium flowing corners with one or two slower ones ? Looks fairly safe with plenty of run off too.

i think the guys are gonna organise one soon for wakefield.
and there was talk of a RATS only track day down there aswell.

As in RATS will hire out the track for the day? or just an official RATS day??
that would be cool, if we could hire out the track and see only RATS on the track :ninja: :ninja:

I was just watching my videos again and it occured to me they really don't show the hill at all! from turn 2 up to turn 4 is quite a climb then from 4 down to 6 is all downhill and then HARD on the brakes for the left hander!

If there was a trackday organised I would love to go. St George have a meeting or two there for me to wobble around with so a trackday or two beforhand would be brilliant :)
