hi all

Another beginner question for me.

Finally did my 1st track day last sunday. What a friggin blast.

Now im curious... what are the maintenance tasks that people do to their bikes post track day.

Iam thinking of doing the following:
Oil change
Chain clean / lube
Maybe even carby clean

Too much or not enough? let us know what you do.

Cheers

Depends really.....

Before each ride just go over everything, especially things like the chain, sprockets, wheels/rims and brakes/pads........

Then, every 2nd ride change the oil > every other change do the oil filter.

Clean the carbs??? Nah - just wait til it stops working first.....
if it ain't broke and all that........
Maybe clean/flush em out if you had a really dirty air filter or something.....otherwise I'd leave that until the valves need checking and get that sorta thing done then.....

I don't worry too much as I'm always maintaining/servicing the bike in one way or another....if you're doing the same then you won't need to do all that much post track day........

post 2-3 track days > different story.....

Brakes, tyres, chain; motor oil maybe - and perhaps that fluid which helps keeping it all on the tarmac.... (but always brake pistons)

After my day at Wakefield today, I'd definatley check every nut and bolt tension etc before next day (nearly had a front brake caliper fall off!!!)

You don't even do that. Your bike is disgraceful.

Next time I see you at EC I want to see some shine, or I'll take bits off your bike and chrome them myself!

And get those scratches on the right side fixed too :(

Add chassis service to that list and remove carby clean.
As Jeff found out yesterday things come loose on high revving motorcycles -
...going over every fastener will avoid necessary crashes. :ayyy:
