A recent conversation with a mate has prompted me to post this.
I told him how one of my brake master bolts were loose and a preload adjustor was loose (was loctighted)
He then tells me the stroy of what happened on friday night, his front sprocket came off! Was fitted professionally over a year ago and simply came off even though it had a "tab type" locking plate
So how often do you do (or get done) a nut/bolt check on your bike.
What are the common or not so common things you have found loose on your bike.

Never checked a front sprocket.
I check most bolts with a torque whench before a trackday.
Torque setting written on my toolbox lid.

Every single external bolt was removed, cleaned and put back on to the correct torque setting with the R1. Exceptions being swingarm and engine bolts where I just checked them while in place.
I also did a fair bit of lock wiring. All small bolts got locktite, e.g. every bolt on the rearsets on my CBR when I had them.
Its a hobby thing... you dont need a reason to tinker, its part of owning bikes.

Dilbee bolts usually come loose from the vibrations the "Hard revving" engine makes.......you'll be right..:lmao:

Zeno undid my rearset to set preload and found they were loose!

When I got my SV, I spent a bit of time tightening all the nuts & bolts up.

I'm starting to think I should go out and check my bike...oh hang on its not a gixxer so she'll be right mate.
Never checked a bolt for the sake of it ever. When i've got the bike apart i try to make a point of checking things when I put it back together, but I dont just strip the bike to clean bolts and loctite them back in. Jase, I think you need a hobby :lmao:
