View Full Version : New track boots required

Hi all,
I need to buy a new set of boots for the track as I pretty much ruined my Alpinestars SMX-R's on Saturday's EC trackday (ground through the toe sliders and into the boot :( ).
Anyway, I quite like these and wouldn't mind getting another pair or maybe the new Puma boots. Does anyone know where I can get either of these for a very good price, before OP this coming Saturday?
Thanks
Turtle

Hi Ray,
Yep, that's them. I've got the 2006 all black one's. Where is the cheapest place in Sydney to get a new pair? Can you get the titanium toe sliders for these as well?
Cheers

Bugger Alex.... just got back from Italy, I could have got you a pair relatively cheap. The Alpinestar SMX4 go for 160 Euros over there (266 AU$).
With 15 AU$ more you can get the top of the range from Oxtar that aren't too bad (Oxtar TCS-EVO).
Check the prices over here and let me know. I'm planning to have a couple of things shipped to Australia, and we could consider to put all in the same box.
If you're after different models/brands we can find anything you want but you've to be 100% sure on the size you're after.

Thanks for the offer Dan. I wish I ground them out before you left on your last trip.
What i've also been looking for is a Termignoni exhaust for the 749. The model that i'm after (SKU code #96445905B) costs about $5.5kAU which is VERY expensive in my eyes.
Do you know anywhere in Italy where I can get it much cheaper?

Ive had a pair of GEARNE for about 3 years.
They are getting a bit thin on the soles and on the sides and I`m really up for a new pair.
No doubt what brand I will be getting.

My bro and I both wear Gaerne and they are exellent. They are a thinner fit than the Alpinestars so if you have a big wide foot it may not work for you. These are the top of the line race boots I think. They come in other colours but I can't find any pics.

They look nice. Where can I get either Gaerne or Sidi race boots in Sydney at a good price? I'd order them online however I don't think they would arrive by Saturday.

I got my gaernes from MCAS in Parramatta. They have an online site that I think you can order them at. I'd recomend trying them on. I tried on Alpinestars but they didn't fit as good on me as the Gaernes. Good luck mate, I hope they fit ya well. I've seen Sidi boots at heaps of places, so you should have no drama getting them but the gaernes were a bit harder to find.
So, how come you're scraping ya boots everywhere?
Alex.

I think it's just my riding style on the track. Toe and knee sliders don't seam to last long :o

I have 2 pair of Gaerne boots, touring & track. Both are a few years old & going very strong. As JB mentioned, they are a little tight across the toes but loosen up after a little riding. Purchased mine from MCA's in Liverpool, if they don't have the right size, get them to call Parramatta & the City shop to check.
Might need to think about your foot position if you are wearing through them. Up on your toes a bit more :mod_smilie_rockwoot

Bro, they are sick! ;-)
They are $230 US + Shipping.
Problem is, the only black boots with vents are sidi vertigo's which are $350 US minimum! In hind sight I should have paid the premium even though I knew they would be dirty within a month.

Yeah, OK. Vertigo Corsa are beautiful!!!!!
What I normally see here in Sydney, in the shops that have them, are the "normal" Vertigo though, and they go for 450 - 500 AU$ :hatter: .
So I don't dare to imagine what the Vertigo Corsa would sell for

I'm not sure as I normaly carry the stuff myself. It goes with weight, and if I'm not wrong it should be around the 80AU$ for a 3 Kg box; but in this kind of things it would be better to share freight among 3/4 people, or you wait I go over there next time :)

I got a pair of the Oxtar Troy Bayliss replica boots.
They're heaps comfortable, no complaints here.
Think I paid $450 for them.
