Hey guys, my wrist as of late has been VERY VERY SAW after like 20mins of riding, i find out its because of 2 minor fractures that i have. who would of guessed!!
either way, doc reckons it will continue to hurt for about 5 months because of the smallness of the fractures they can not really do anything to help mend it besides keep strapping it....
Im after something that requires ALOT less effort to pull the clutch in.
So, in the search to find a easier clutch to pull in i stumbled across
MSR RAPTOR
MOOSE EZ PULL
Anyone heard of these? ( i hadnt until i looked into them)
Pros and cons?
where did you get yours from??
worth it??

I'm not sure what your gear changing is like but I very rarely use the clutch when changing up - only at lights and down changes.

Scaphoid ? Crap mate thats some seriously bad stuff... you sure you should even be riding? I've heard if you dont TOTALLY rest a broken bone in the small of your hand then it will stay bad forever. Maybe just get 2nd opinion or research on the net... and dont just listen to what you want to hear... no good doing yourself permanent injury :(

can you refer me to one that is good? hahahaha
Yeah, i dont use clutch for upshifts and only use it for going down from 2 into 1st, and start/stop.... but my wrist hurts still.. hopefully this will help.
Got one coming, hopefully not long wait.

Yeah:( I went through this about 12 years ago. Broke both my wrists, but didn't find out about it for years. Like 5 years later. Always get a second opinion, I have had a shoulder reconstructed because a dud doctor gave me bad treatment. I learnt the hard way.
Cheers Matt

xrays from another place showed same thing, multiple hair line fractures (4) this guy reckons,
no idea how it happened.... either way, hope this clutch helps, or i may stop riding i guess, its next to impossble at the moment.
Thanks guys, keep you posted.
Dont ride if your wrist is stuffed... TRUST ME, 2 major operations on my wrist to get it right because i said fuck it i am riding, i now wish i hadnt done that. Took me about 2 years to fully recover, lost a lot of muscle bulk, lost about 10-15kg in strength and spent thousands paying the specilaist.
if you need a specialist Dr Simon Coffey in penrith is brillant, operates on the doctors if they have a problem.
TRUST ME there is always time later, its like cornering give up a bit to gain!!! Give up for 3 months to save 1 year.

Years ago my mate didnt get his bung wrist (skateboarding acco, wasnt broken) checked out. 2 weeks after enduring the pain, he was sent for an xray & the fractured part of bone had fused itself back in the wrong place.
He had to have his wrist re-broken in hospital.. no amount of anesthetic helped.. some of the most cringing screaming I have heard as well.

sorry to hear about the fractures man
hope it all heals up fast :ayyy:
Best to get second advice as mentioned earlier.
I got my xrays done, which didnt show anything, but was advised to get CT scan. Got CT scan which showed the hairline cracks, tried not to use it as much over 2 weeks as advised by doctor. Wrist still not as strong as before and hurts if i carry anything heavy. Mine doesnt seem like it will take much longer to recover fully. I think youll be suprised how quickly it will heal if you dont strain or use it too much, its working for myself. Plus prevents long term damage. Hope your wrist gets well soon.

Wow, this thread is old :) but yeh, wrist is still tender, most likely will be forever, I think the vibration through the bars didnt help all that much, sold the 600 since then, the k6 1000 is tonnes better,
What is the lever worth, the FTP one?

hey mate,
I have some suggestions on helping it heal faster if you're interested. PM me and I'll write something up, if you don't mind reading a little.
However if your wrist bones are fractured my suggestion (as painful as it may be) is to keep it warm, and avoid stressing it.
You won't do yourself any favours not letting it rest.

Interesting thread, updates on whether levers help?
I've just found out that I have a torn cartilage in my wrist which apparently doesn't often heal itself (triangular fibrocartilage). Hand specialist advised to ride less (not hard at present as I barely ride due to time limitations!) but I did notice vibes and clutch aggravate it.
My bike is unfortunately for sale at present due to the launch of a new business (not the wrist scenario) but when I eventually get another bike I'll need to keep all this in mind...
Hope the wrist is travelling ok

How do the ez-pull levers work? As far as I can see, the cable still needs to come out just as far for the clutch to completely disengage so depending on the leverage the ez-pull offers, you're either pulling harder for a shorter distance or softer over a longer distance. Neither, I think, would offer much to a sore wrist regardless of whether you're hooked up for a deal or not, lol.

Right but some bikes like my old GS450 have a heavy lever but short pull, ie theyre not quite tuned, The easy lever will let you tune your clutch so it has the right amount of pull and the least amount of effort.
