I think its fair to say most people would be interested in the news of the great result regardless if they have seen the race or not. What a champion!!

Lucky I just watched the race on free to air. Yes a spoiler allert SHOULD have been put up, moreso now than at any other time as it's not just the race result that matters.

I so wanted to see Stoner crash this race :p or not finish ahead of Rossi
wouldve made phillip island more exciting to win it there, its not like he won here deservedly, Rossi hopped on a dud bike, whilst leading with ten laps to go, wtf, if he never went for the change of bike ?

I'll be at Phillip Island with Falco and Jacs and it will be awesome to see the new World Champion at his home GP. Woo Hoo! Go Casey, you legend.

Rossi had no chances to keep the lead on the "wet bike": Capirossi was lapping in the 1:53s on dry tyres and Rossi was on 1:59s, so that is 5-6 seconds a lap quicker that in ten laps is 1 minute. Capirossi was just 20 seconds behind him, therefore would have caught Rossi in 4 - 5 laps.

The Yamaha mechanics must have cocked something up with the front end of the "dry bike".... it looked to me something wrong with the brakepads... If you look carefully Rossi got in, swapped bike, got out and on heavy braking the fron end was "closingin" sort of steering right.....then he came back into the pits shaking the front end.... the mechanics pulled the front brake calipers!!! Looked like one disc was braking and the other not..... but I might be wrong..
Ciao

Wow, Been a while since ive been on the site, lotsa new names. Welcome to all new RATs members. Bloody awesome Casey won it. So glad that another Aussie won it & also the 1st Italian manufacturer since 74 ( I think, Phil Read 74?)
Count Agusta would be proud with an Italian factory winning.

Im proud as punch with an Aussie taking the title. We can only hope that Casey can repeat this great feat next year. 1 title is great but 2 in a row means great rider (think Kenny Jnr).
Anyway, this years championship is won. All the best to Chris, Casey & Ant for next year.

Sorry mate, my 'shit shit shit' was over the top, just venting though, not wanting to take anything away from the top result for Stoner. Just sat down then to watch the recast on Fox 3, figured they'd put the 800's on first.. figure wrong.. have to wait a couple of hours now :)

Onya Stoner.!

very proud to be an aussie today!!!.......where is our public holiday Johny

anyone know why Rossi came in the pits for??? I know Rossi had a prob with his front wheel but I believe Yamaha said there wasnt one

I am a little disapointed that the Aussie TV and papers didnt cover it as a front pager.....Moto GP has become the biggest watched sport overtaking F1....so whether you like the sport or not people need to regonise how big it is

Maybe he didnt let it heat up enough... but Rossi knows how to ride, maybe there was a screw up with the tyre, the mounting or suspension setup (it was whole different bike), it was tucking on him, no doubt about that. Sad for Rossi, STOKED for Stoner tho :) :ayyy: :ayyy:

When I rode (years ago) the champions were Wayne Gardner and then Mick Doohan, it was a pretty cool time to be riding.
I stopped riding, sold the bike, eventually forgot about GP .....

Years later I come back to riding, and lo, here's this Stoner kid winning for Australia.
A little freaky, but very
