View Full Version : My brakes are better than ever thanks to zRoyz!!!
Went to zRoyz's place last night and did the whole bleeding and he put 5.1 into my brakes... felt good on my way home last night, but even better this morning.
Thanks Roy :ayyy:
One question for you though, what was that whining sound in the background that kept coming and going? It was kinda like an annoying sound... like when you run your fingernails down a blackboard, but louder... :confused1:

did you have a pillion ?? :) Good on you zRoyz :ayyy:
No. I rode alone. The ride was quiet. The whining sound wasn't while I was riding. It was while Roy and I were at his place... it would come and go while we were chatting... :confused1:

It was kinda like a cicada... you know when you hear them in the summer and at first they are just a noise but then they get annoying...
Not sure what it was :)

Why is it when you bleed bike brakes (or when I do it) they feel shit house for the first few klms? I do cars the same way, pump it up, bleed and repeat then do a gravity drain but cars feel good straight away.

Could the whining sound be mistaken for someone nagging? :p

Hmmmm? I hadn't considered that. It was just me and Roy. Who else could it have been?:confused1:

I use a vac bleeder because I don't have 2hrs to waste trying to drain & renew fluid with gravity or a syringe. I still tie back lever for 1hr to push every bit of air out to finish the job, but there good to go after vac bleeder.
I use 5.1 mainly because it doesn't damage paint, no other reason because on a road bike you will never notice the diff between it & 4, the only reason people think they do is because there brakes just got new fluid so of course there better than your used to. Unless you have seen your fluid boil & you will know there is no need for anything over 4 (but it damages paint).
Pan are you talking about the empty pool swamp, think the noise was coming from some sort of creature from there :lmao:

Its the mettalic properties in the pad compound, its cause all pads do rub slighty on discs, they never move away from the disc.

Very true & a good point but think you have been roped into that answer under misleading info, the noise was coming from a visitor like a possum or some evil ass smacking, gixxer riding, motor mouth type thing (Yarnie I know you don't need anymore hints) :lmao:
