Doohan's new ride at Dreamworld

Got this in an NRMA email today:

Moto Coaster - New Ride at Dreamworld
Five times 500cc World Champion and World Record Holder, Mick Doohan will launch his very own thrill ride this October allowing guests to get behind the handlebars on a circuit that has to be seen to be believed. Pre-purchase you ticket from NRMA and not only will you save 10% off the ticket price, you will be among the first to try this ride as Members can access the park an hour ahead of the crowd.


No idea of any other details... it'd be interesting

There was a write up in the paper with photo's about 2-3 weeks ago.

The ride is basically NSR replica's painted to Honda livery and you sit on these for the ride. Some of the bikes will have side cars fitted for the younger & older guys.

Hoping it is a great success. Mick really needs the money. :D

Doohan was my hero when I was younger, but still it must be tough watching people like Rossi making ... what 100 million Euros? I have no idea how much the likes of Doohan and Gardener were making when they were champions, but I'd wager it wasn't quite as much.
I'm not saying they're bitter, well I hope not as I think they're bigger than that, but they're still human.

Same with Barry Sheene, Kenny Roberts et al, sad honestly... just the battles back then I still feel had more spirit than today. Thinking about it now I would say these days the machines are that good the only approach to beat the others becomes a clinical one... the older races... ahh that was just out and out brutal.
