I'm sure like every model it will grow on all of us. If only it was a v4 1000, I'd buy it . :)

Yeah Ive been waiting all week for the release, and was a little dissapointed by the looks, but hopefully it will grow on me
Lots of bikes look ugly at first the especially in print then grow on you when u see them in real life..
I was also dissapoited that they released pics but no specs yet..
Whats up with that?

FIREBLADE

ive seen different. Rear hugger like the gp and exhaust is different shape but still dont like where they have put it as it should still be under the rear seat.

Good to see the undertail tail exhaust dissapear.
I like it :)
Ofcourse taking authenticity of pics as granted, I doubt it be real with no specs ( not that I looked for them mind you, just going by whats said here).

ditto, exhaust looks a bit... wierd, but apart from that it's a really nicely designed bike, like most of the CBR's

Yeah me too. I think it looks pretty good, especially in black/silver. I'm sure it'll be a rocket.
Still not as good looking as a 1098 though...:ayyy:

Thats a bad, bad tail. Looks like the back end of a Doberman - docked!
Everything else is fair, to say the most.

I much prefer the white/black with red highlights.
I suspect they are fake... But I read somewhere its supposed to be the same weight as the 07 600rr.

Yeah I was going on about the CBR.
I never seen the desmo's rear end. Looks good and doesnt look like it has much in the way of mufflers :eyecrazy:
Alex.

Yeah the Desmodecci is stunning in my opinion. They're about $105k AU and the allocation for AU sold out almost as quickly as it was announced.

and it will be a V4. I have heard Ten Kate already have them and they are freakin weapons............. they mentioned h.p but who cares, dyno can vary up to 10-15h.p but it will be fast. Mmmmmm V4. I like it, have been told all week it looked shit, but I rekon apart from the muffler, it's horn. Very MotoGP, the tail also....... a good after market system (Arata/Sato etc) and it will be freakin sweet.

749dark should be right, considering what the bastard just ordered :) go on, spill the beans !!!
So very jealous!
Alex.
09-09-2007, 10:54 AM
:) Yeah I ordered the 1098R. The order book's for the 1098's (all models) are pretty much full for 2008 and they're taking orders for the 2009 run! No one's pulling out and you basically can't jump the queue so you have to wait.
But the Desmo, yep that's right - $105 big one's! It'll be a special Collector's piece considering they're not making the 990's anymore.
slowbike
09-09-2007, 11:14 AM
is the 1098 that good that you would wait that long ?
Captain
09-09-2007, 11:54 AM
:) Yeah I ordered the 1098R.
Do you mean the 1098S?
Alex.
09-09-2007, 01:22 PM
Do you mean the 1098S?
The 1098R is the WSB spec model that Ducati must build for sale to customers to allow it to race in the championship. It's in the same vein as the 999R, 998R etc.
It'll be released at the Milan Intermot Show in November and then for sale next year.
jasonbw
09-09-2007, 01:48 PM
its actually 1198cc's ! but it'll still be marketed as a 1098.

notice the MOtoGP influence with the stubby arse?
i like it. immediately i think;
that i like the fat swing-arm.
have never been a fan of the underseat exhaust, so the stubby bastard is good. will it be easier to get the thing to breathe?
the front of the fairng gives it bit of a parrot look, no?
& dont knwo about the bags under the eye's (inlets under the headlight) a'la ducati 1098...
be the motor is a ripper though.
ecu upgrade anyone?

i personally saw a guy order 2 ($30,000 deposit each) at last years MotoGP on his Amex.
one to ride & one to keep?
