G'day fellow RATS,
Ive been exploring our fine Australian road system to find the best areas to ride smooth, twisty and safe local routes. Ive found a few around my area which can be pretty cool depending on the time you choose to ride them.
Old Windsor road can be sweet after about 8-9pm or on sundays. Most areas out in the western suburbs are good. Not alot of traffic, wide roads/lanes, good quality roads..most places and some fun twisties if you start exploring into residential areas.
Anyone got any other areas good for a bit of a burn?

any of the roads down here mate. some of them are a little bumpy, and ya get the occassional tractor or farmer that tries to take ya out, but most are twisty and deserrted.....and ya gotta ride into the cop shop to see one!!!

I don`t make a habit of this but once every now and then you just can't beat Glenmore Park between Mulgoa Road and The Northen Road.
About 50 round-abouts stand between thoose 2 pieces of road.
You don't even have to break the speed limit to have a ball.

A few of my favourites are The Old Road (The Pacific Hwy) that runs from Berowra to Gosford, although these days it's heavily poilced on weekends. The Nasho (National park) Loftus to Stanwell Park and Lawrence Hargreaves Drive to any of the south coast beaches. The Putty road loop from Windsor to Broke and then to Wollombi and back via the Old Road.

The best local place to ride around here is The Putty Rd.
But only from the River to Colo Hieghts.
I tend to stay away from there these days, you get to know it too well.
Make a mistake in there and its all over.
The road surface on New sth Head road has turned to shit.
Its still fun though:D .

dungy's right... the roads down here are all fantastic... i'm lucky in that they are all my locals... no more than 10mins ride and i'm at most fun roads...
macquarie pass and jambaroo road are supurb, with Jambaroo Mt road, saddleback mountain also good for a slow cruise...
kangaroo valley loop is also great... even better when you do a spur of the minute loop on a late sunday arvo... little traffic and the beer at kanga pub is still cold!..

My favourite road ride is not local unfortunately.
When I discovered how nice the Snowy roads are in March, I went back the very next weekend and did it all again. :ayyy: Now I'm hanging to go back there again, hey Kat00?
Other than that, my favourite road rides are the Putty loop, Nasho-Mac Pass-the Valley-Jamberoo run, and a few months back had a very nice weekend ride out west to Oberon-Bathurst (Mt Panorama)-Mudgee.
Cheers, :)

Got to agree with Quickie.
Its not local but you just can't beat the Snowys.
The road from Cabramurra to Adaminaby is the hilite for me but the whole region is superb. I love place and can't wait to get back there. It has it all, including this sign:ayyy:

I have'nt had the fortune to travel far & wide on the road. When I got my L's I did a day ride to Kangaroo Valley once & it was great, I also did the National Park to Stanwell Tops once. Did those 2 rides on a Suzuki Across. Being a Newcastle boy the Old Road was always an opportunity to pretend I was better than I was till I lost it & totalled the little Suzuki.
Then I bought a 97 ZX7R & found the Oxley Highway. That is the best piece of road I have found, apart from a few loose canons coming in the opposite direction on my side of the road.
As far as public roads go the Oxley gets my vote.:ayyy:

When i was able to ride i found that area was pretty awesome....
Cops patrol that part pretty hard but.....
There this place, some one from my work told me about, it's in Penrith and it's kinda like a really curve. It's like a housing complex.
I forgot the name of the place so if anyone knows of a familiar place could you let me know.
