would like some opinions from the more experienced track'ers out there...
I have the opportunity to purchase a fairly clean, running 1989 FZR600 at a VERY cheap price (read: hundreds! :doggy: ) and am considering it as a muckaround trackbike... owner brought it for a trackie a while ago, but has let that idea slip...
Its not the quickest thing out of the box, but should still be a fun play thing to punt around... and sure beats throwing a nice shiney toy down the road...
it's nothing flash by today's standards, but my mates ridden it, and it still pulls pretty hard for an old girl... it has a later model 750 front end (with upgraged calipers), mild engine work (high comp. pistons, porting, etc), but has an electrical issue (reg/rect i think), and needs new forkseals (chance to swap springs?)... prob whack some new rubber on it also, (although considering thier odd shaped rims, should hopefully get a 110 on the front, 160 on the rear).... all repairs i should be able to do myself to keep the cost down..... out of rego for 6 months, but its still road compliant if i wanted to register it! (even though rego would cost more than the bike!)
should i pull the pin and snap it up? just not too sure about availability of parts etc....
