Check out the interview of Elena Myers.

Ben Spies was saying she is one very very talented rider on Facebook, so I checked her out.

Awesome - freash faced and refreashingly humble
Imagine what her potential could be in lifting the marketing profile of the sport in the states.

Can anyone ever remember anyone that young winning a supersport class in the AMA?

Yep, she won under a red flag, but she was in front when the flag was put out!

She used to race for Kawasaki as a 13yo, AMA SS on a Suzuki,.........WSS on a Honda perhaps  (haha, well they do make up half the field!)

So she's fast, she's articulate, she's modest, she's young and as a bonus she's pretty too. Good ambassador for the sport!

I wonder why there aren't any women in F1 or MotoGP?

Mr.Ed
20-05-2010, 12:30 AM
There were a few on F1 but they never got very far... Dana Patrick's been said to have been offered to test for a some teams but she turned them down. Bia Figueiredo says she still dreams about it... who know? Maybe one day.
Specialists (or chauvinists - depends who you ask) say that a woman's survival instinct is much greater than a man's so she won't take as many risks. That's great for evolution and life in general but not so much if you're into motorsports.

Conversely as she is only 16, couldn't she potentially become a little top heavy :-)

If she keeps winning they may need to rethink the 'podium girls' and have some 'podium boys' too:rolleyes:

She was , i think her or the team pulled the pin . She wasn't there for the last race and the commentators said she may have found racing WSS to much if I remember correctly .
