Well we arrived at the track Sunday at 715am & it was -2 deg!
Couldnt see the track through the thick fog, but was to come out a lovely day by about 10am
Sunny & pretty warm. Went out for practice to run the new slicks & see if the gearing was ok.
Every thing was sweet, all we did was a rear sprocket change, & we were ready. Wetty had a problem in practice but I'll leave it up to him to explain. [Went from hero to zero all in one go]
Races were great, had a pretty good run, got my signiture blinding starts, just to see wetty motor off into the sunset like I was standing still. I'm pretty sure most of the RATs had a good day of racing, everything went well, Im starting to get my head around the GSXR which is a very suprising bike, it does everything so well. So there you have it, my thoughts into round 2 of the old farts champinship.
No doubt other RATs will have their account of the day, so chime in & give us your story.
Hopefully there was a RAT or two snapping some pics for us to enjoy.
PS:: I used my extra 150cc to good use Paul. he he he..
Cheers Steve.

Hmm, yep hes a star all right, bloody good guy too. It was good to see he got over his practice issue, & had a great day.
It'll be good to hear how the other RATs went.

Well I find it like Amaroo pk , theres a fast way around & you have to find it. Its very safe & grip is mostly good. [execpt for yesterday]
Its not as technical as Oran pk, simply because its shorter, & has less corners. But its a place I think you'll love when you get the hang of it.
I cant imagine anyone not liking it. I would say its about a third less technical as Oran pk. If it was a bit bigger it would be a great track.

It was a great day racing for all congrats to James Pace it was his 2nd race along with Joshua Kelly and myself we had a ball... The 28th is gonna be bloody cold!!!! So yeah wear something really warm under your leathers...
Race 3 was a bit of a bummer for me i was trying to nchase dow Neil Crockford (as we had such a good battle in race 2) but that motard decided to take my front wheel out on turn 2!!! But well done all!!!!! And PGM was great to watch and learn from he's a good bloke and insanely fast along with Brett Clark. Look forwards to seeing you all out there again for the next round!

COngrats to all who attended. Great results there SButler, and Wetty, wow, three out of three, nice stuff, now spill :).
Im sure you blokes gave the flaggies staff etc a round of applause for allowing you all to race in -2 conditions on a voluntary basis, they dont have adrenalin to keep them warm as those who ride do, who do it for nothing other than the love of the sport and a thanx :ayyy:

I had a good day, In the end it was between a Zx6 and me as to who was going to finish 3rd in class, whoever won race 3 between us would take the trophy and he managed to hold me out by 0.051 of a second to take home the silver(plastic)ware I tried to go around the outside of him at 10 but in the drag to the finish line he had me by half a bike length!
Warm up was very slippery, but I was pretty happy with the grip levels through the day, although I did find the black stuff offered a lot more grip than the grass and dirt after turn 9
Race 1 I started on grid position 38 ... that's what ya get for missing the first round!
Race 2 I started in 22nd
Race 3 I started 16th
My best Lap for the day was 1:10.574

Yes there is, and I'll be buggered if I could find it! I had a great day but I simply wasn't competitive in any sense of the word - it's been a while since I was last at WP and just couldn't get a good rhythm or find any decent lines. Additionally In race 1 I needed to closely inspect the gardening at T8 which was fun :)

Well done to the RATS who did well; wetty, sbutler, and atorretto in particular who was of great help in getting my bike back together for race 2; cheers mate :ayyy:

Looking forward to the next one!

Y is wetty in B grade when he wins every race?

Because he's "The Trophy Hunter" coming to a PCRA meeting near you!!

Crikey! " look over there its another Trophy" The trophy Hunter stalks its prey with ferocious speed ,pouncing upon it with most unaware.

Thank god or racegod that is, im not racing a "Modern Superbike".

And he loves Jan " Long time".......

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm MORNING WARM UP is prob a best forgotten moment .

a little to fast , a little too much front brake and the rear unloaded and came round to meet the front . completely fukt my #2 wife . ol mate who was behind said it went higher than the dust and came down on top of me. i wasnt runnin around like Johhny rea lookin 4 it. it was bouncin off me.

after standing at the T4 flag point watchin i noticed #69 didnt come round . so when i got back a quick trip to see jan and to find he didnt turn up like another (james no show spence) . she gave me back my number and i dragged the #1 wife out of the trailer and warmed her up. 3 from 3 .
thanx to all for the PM's and SMS's. i'm a little sore but will be all good in a cupla daze. and #2 will be good to go next round

I'll have to check my video although by the time I got there the dust was settling, I did however get some pretty good video of the 3 bike crash into 8 although there were a couple of bikes between them and me.
Seems Wetty was bit grumpy bum afterwards too, threatening to punch someones face in because they innocently offered the remark that Racers Edge would sell a fairing to suit his bike! he had no idea you did the fairings yourself! but then he did say you apologised later, but he also made a comment along the lines of why do the good guys always seem to be wankers, I guess a fair call in this instance!
