1646 - Shakey Byrne just had a big one, still conscious but hurting quite a bit by the look of it. A big highside between turns 11 and 12 is always going to hurt...
1644 - Camier and Crutchlow both on good laps and might improve their position in these dying seconds of the session... No, they both were well up on the second split but then lost a lot of time in the final split, Camier was half a second up on his previous best first two sectors, but then lost all that ground and more in the final sector
1642 - Jonny Rea looks to be having some chatter problems, his forks were not very happy at all taking turn 12 that time around.
1639 - Troy Corser just went down on the BMW but looks to be fine. Slid out well past the apex at MG. I am meant to be interviewing Xaus and Corser later tonight but somehow after the day they have had I don't think they will be in a talking mood...
1638 - Fabrizio has gone up to second but Checa remains on top with five minutes to run but Fabrizio is on another quick one now and may knock him off...
1633 - Not all smooth sailing for Checa though as he just went down but walked away fine
1630 - 15 minutes remaining in this World Superbike first qualifying session and Checa remains on top with that 32.15 ahead of Haslam, Byrne with Haga moving up the order to fourth ahead of Fabrizio, Guintoli, Rea, Biaggi, Smrz and Lanzi rounds out the top 10
1620 - A lot of the World Superbike riders have certainly stepped things up a level now we are into qualifying. Checa leads the way with a 32.15 from Haslam 32.37, Byrne 32.6, Fabrizio 32.8, Guintoli 32.9, Rea 32.9
1618 - Full Combined Practice Results from Australian Superbike
1607 - Had some connection problems there but back up and running now. Xaus has had another crash, this time at turn four. One of the Yamaha men also just went down, I think it was Toseland but not 100% sure. Lanzi has stopped with some sort of bike problem
1533 - World SBK First Qualifying commences at 1545

1510 - There is less wind now than there was in the earlier Aussie SBK session but the track temperature I presume is now much higher as it is quite warm here today and still warming up it seems. Maxwell quickest so far from Waters, Giles, Charlton, Jamie Stauffer, Johnson, Burgess and Allerton
1503 - World Supersport Practice Full Results
1458 - Maxwell does a 35.0 on his first flying lap... Amazing stuff, actually so amazing that it appears to be incorrect as the time has now disappeared from the timing screens... Maxwell still on top though with a 35.4
1457 - Australian Superbikes on track now for their second practice session
1447 - World SBK First Practice Full Results
1437 - Pictorial - Aussie SBK Gallery B (Supersport)
1413 - Pictorial - Aussie SBK Gallery A
1404 - Chris Trounson on recording the best time in Superstock 1000 A/B - “I was very comfortable on the RC8 R, its making great power, the brake package is awesome and we are by no means on the limit, we have a number of adjustments to evaluate in this afternoons second session.”
1355 - World Supersport out next. We will have some photos from Aussie SBK qualifying shortly also...
1349 - World Superbike First Practice. Haslam smokes them, 6-tenths of a second quicker but the rest of the bunch are closely packed together, only 1 second covers 2nd to 17th. Been a fair while since we have seen a Suzuki dominating World SBK practice sessions...
Haslam 1m32.4

Byrne 1m33.12
Rea 1m33.14
Checa 1m33.21

Camier 1m33.80
Sykes 1m33.92
Corser 1m34.00
Neukirchner 1m34.12
1337 - Biaggi just cracked out the best ever Superbike speed at Phillip Island, 318.9km/h on the Aprilia.
1332 - Haslam still on top with that early time but Biaggi has moved up to second place with a 33.0 ahead of Byrne, Haga and Toseland.
1321 - Fabrizio just went down at MG in sympathy with Ruben
1316 - Not all that much to report on during this session really, not a lot of order changes, just bikes going round and round and round trying different set-up options no doubt, with nearly half an hour left in this full hour session they probably won't get too excited until the dying minutes despite this not being a qualifying session
1302 - Xaus had gone out on his spare bike, only to crash again at MG, this time not on the run down the hill but as he tipped in not all that far from the apex, the front just folded
1301 - Haslam still on top, the wind is quite strong here today but other than that conditions are mostly perfect, still, the wind will hold plenty of them back from their full potential. Haslam is the only man in the 32s thus far
1251 - Haslam the early leader from Haga, Toseland, Biaggi, Guintoli
1250 - Ruben Xaus just threw it away over Lukey
1245 - World Superbikes heading out now
1242 - Full Australian Historic Qualifying Results
1236 - Not long now until the World Superbike boys hit the track, 1245
1207 - Full Australian Supersport Second Practice Results
1200 - Phillis is going to be hard to beat in the Historics this weekend, Robbie just put in a 44.33 on his Suzuki, more than two seconds quicker than Michael Dibb on the big CBX
1148 - A lot of riders failed to improve their times and some went markedly slower as they struggled with the increasing wind which is really blowing quite hard across the circuit now, quite warm and not a could in the sky though
1144 - Australian Supersport second practice winding up now with Herfoss on top still with that 38.48 ahead of Waters 38.52, Curtain 38.84, Medcalf 39.27, Metcher 39.74, Casella 40.10, Pirotta 40.40, Hern 40.76
1136 - 10 minutes remaining in the second Aussie Supersport session and Herfoss currently leads the way with a 38.48 from Waters 38.66, Curtain 38.84, Medcalf 39.27, Metcher 39.74, Pirotta 40.40, Casella 40.58 and Hern 40.76
1121 - Australian Supersport FP2 on now with Curtain leading the way from Metcher and Waters but they are all still building up speed
1120 - Full Australian Superbike First Practice Results

Bryan Staring 1m36.94 Honda
Glenn Allerton 1m37.06 Honda

Jordan Burgess 1m39.02 Ducati
Dustin Goldsmith 1m39.03 Yamaha (Superstock 1000 A/B)
Ben Henry 1m39.42 Suzuki (Superstock 1000 A/B)
1034 - Johnson just improved with a 36.78 on the KTM to move up the ranks to sixth
1030 - Maxwell still leads the way on 34.85 from Giles 35.66, Waters 35.78, J Stauffer 36.09, Charlton 36.67, Staring 36.94, Allerton 37.06, Johnson 37.19
1024 - 10 minutes to run in this Aussie Superbike first practice session and Maxwell still leads the way with a 34.85 ahead of Waters 35.78, J Stauffer 36.09, Giles 36.79, Charlton 36.9, Allerton 37.06, Johnson 37.79, Staring 38.84, Trounson 38.94, Burgess 39.02
1016 - That order remains the same now apart from Glenn Allerton pushing Shannon Johnson down to sixth after putting in a 37.36 on his Fireblade
1013 - Wayne Maxwell really does have a love affair with this place, the Demolition Plus GAS Honda man down to 34.85 already to shoot straight to the top of the charts with 21 minutes to run. Josh Waters up to second 35.78 followed by Jamie Stauffer 36.09, Shawn Giles 36.83 and Shannon Johnson 37.79
1011 - Jamie Stauffer down to 36.79 now, Gilesy goes second with a 37.53 to displace Josh. Shannon Johnson, another big twin entrant on the KTM in fourth with a 39.76
1009 - Josh Waters (Suzuki) and Jamie Stauffer (Ducati) straight down to 37s. Just how good is the Ducati going to be this year? Will the 2010 season tyres with their less grip suit the big twin? A lot of people reckon that might be the way things play out, and if it does wouldn't that be a turn up for the books! And an absolutely awesome boon for Paul Free's Motologic
1008 - Okay the big boys are out and at it now. The Australian Superbike Championship, which uses the World Superbike season opener as a stage to launch its 2010 series, shakes its booty. Never before has the form guide been so turned upside down in the Aussie Superbike ranks. A swag of new teams and a new control tyre rule has slowed the top men markedly which makes picking a winner more of a lottery than ever before. My money though is on defending Aussie Superbike Champion Josh Waters to kick off his title defence in winning fashion. Despite the Aussie Superbike being slowed this year by the new control tyre they are still highly likely to upstage the World Championship events when it comes to the best road racing spectacle of the weekend.
