What times are being pulled at the drags these days?
Ive only been once and that was a couple of years ago, had NFI what I was doing and did a 10.38 stock except for a can and PC.

Are out of the crate times falling, are bikes continuing to get faster or have they plateaued?

11.2 '06 ZX6R slip on

Some of the new bikes are better than others, i'd say Oggy and Kris will have a hard time tonight on the '08 blades as they are wheelie prone, just like the '05 ZX10R

i did 10.5 on my 04 zx10r, just a slip on.

did 11.001 on my stock 04 z1000, stock pipes and all.

10.599 on the back wheel (so the photographer told me with a smile) ....lol .... 60 foot was a slow 2 seconds so im 0.2 slower over 60 ft compared to the 05 Blade.

Fun though

More practice I can get that down..bike does like to wheelie!

Oggy, id love to see the picture they took of you doing that!

Conditions and temp of track also affect the runs.... Good to see the stretched turbo charged Suzuki was only pulling 10.09 on same night.

10.1 back in 97 on my ZX9r at the old track
lots of low 10's on Zx9's straight off the floor except for a slick fitted on the way to the track(parra -pit stop at wenty-creek 30mins). Demo bikes were the best fun.

Didnt see 1 stock 1000 do anywhere near a 9!

since ive been going there the only two bikes ive seen come close to 9 is

1. zx9r - nos - extensions - PC - tune and about 15g overall on the bike 9.1 constants
2. bussa's - nos - extensions - PC - tune and about 10g spend on em .. 9.5 constant

most guys are around the 10-11 bracked for 1000 .. but hey not saying it couldnt happen .. :ayyy:

The best I did on my 04 busa was a 9.67, bike stock except for pipe, pc and lowering links. My 1441 08 busa should crack into the 8 second zone easily, we will soon find out.

There is a blue 08 busa out there weekly (simmo) who regularly runs 9.2 - 9.4 bike is lowered, piped, ECU reflashed and has air shifter. Less than 3 grand total in mods.

It comes down to practice, practice, practice.

I run the 1/8th mile up here in the bush, it's all won and lost in the first 60' if you are up against a similar machine.

60' 1.5 to 1.8
1/8th = 6.87 is the best I've run, usually around 7s neat.
K5GSXR1000, can, PC. It's all in the launch.
Would love to try a proper 1/4mile track like WISD one day, all the car guys say the better surface is worth at least 1 - 1.5sec

Yep, more practice for me , wanna low the 60' and lower RT not overly concerned about ET... Won't be doing quarter mile races on a track

Very true... I think after the 60 ' its just a case of changing gear at the right RPM, make slick gear changes and keep your head tucked in.....

1.5 is impressive for a stock bike (ala suspension).... my best is a 1.8 ... so yep i guess more traffic light grand prix's are needed to and from work.... lol

I've run against a stock near brand new GSX-R 1000 that was getting same mph as my ZX 14 but only running 10.5 or 10.6, with that mile an hour it would easy do a 9 second pass, would probably need a strap and lowering links to get the 60 foot time though.

I went last Wednesday night which was also a test and tune that day so the track was fully prepped and very sticky.

09 R1

60 foot times were crap no matter how high I had the revs or slipped the clutch on launch and once the clutch was fully out the engine seemed to bog down as there was no wheelspin at all.

60' 1.964
1/4 10.621
Mph 137.2
Kph 220.81

I was told by the yamaha dealer that the 09 R1's have been tamed down a little in first gear to help keep the front down  don't know how true that is but had no wheelies all night but I was keeping my body weight as far forward as possible

Dyno numbers and hp/kg numbers are great advertising material but often only elude to the potential performance of a bike and very rarely the reality straight out of the box at the drag strip. You could easily do a degree on what needs to be learnt to get the most from your bike and become a good rider.

to be honest skizzi .. thats only 1 second quicker then me .. and im on a 600rr.. i know a second is a second but still that isnt a massive difference for a 1000 - 600

The best I've done on my K5 1000 was 10.9 when it still had fairings, best I've done post fightering is an 11.4 (I think, it was a while ago).

10.9 on a 600 is a fantastic time. you have to remember a stock 1000cc just cant "drop the clutch" like a 600cc can. the difference at the finish line though (10.9 to 9.9) would be 35 big long metres and thats when the bloke doing a 9.9 gets there, if he kept going until you get to the line the gap would probably close to double in that last long second ;) anyway why do people waist their money on drag cars anyway lol

It was a 9.99 actually as i was in the return lane and watched it.For sure he is an awesome rider but you have to put him on the scales suited
up and realise 10kg lighter is a tenth less et,when comparing to anyone. It was a repsol painted cbr1000.I question if the clutch on that bike was
stock as all other stock cbr1000,s ive seen had an evil clutch to launch with.Ive seen 10.4,s from wednesday night average riders.

Just ran a 9.65@149.6mph on a mild 1299cc stock height hayabusa on good friday.Pretty happy with that.I rode a nos busa as well, that was
different but fun,its like some one winds the tape of your life fast forward for a few seconds as you go through the gears, maybe their was a leak because i was giggling in my helmet.

Allerton had a stock clutch in.. I was there chatting with him.. His secret for the blade was let out clutch at 2000 and let the engine do the rest,,, it seemed the way as the stock clutch is a grabby beast.. I think I did a 10.54 on same night on a 05 1000 blade.

I finished rebuilding my busa motor myself this time around and i took it out at stock height for a spin.(i rode it out there actually).
I ran a best of 9.45@159.4mph on its 3rd pass,i was pretty happy with that.carried the front wheel to about half track,I,ll slam it next year
and see if i can beat my lowered pb.

i should let more people ride my bikes. Last year i had jamie from s and r pro ride my gen 2 busa and cleaned up with 600 bucks which we split and now glenn on his 2nd ever pass on my bike gets the cash!!!!!. See there is such a thing as karma. Early in the year i had a young guy named Russ jump on my factory stock zx6r 09 and went 10.6 at 128mph with 1.74 sixty foot. Not bad if ya ask me. Setting the bike up more for the drags now by going 1 down 2 up, strapping and lowering. Has a slip on only and pc. C'mon glenn, there's a low 10 in it!!!!!!!!!!
