Well every man and his dog has their thoughts one what's best... All I can say is one of the first times in Oz I went... was on my 05 Blade... Glenn Allerton was also their on his Joe Rocket race bike CBR1000RR Blade and was their purely to practise his starts..... I was chatting to him on how he Launches ... ( I think he did a 10.2)... as I was trying to launch at about 5 grand... but the blades clutch is known for grabbing a bit.....
His advise was to hold it at 2000 RPM, get it off the clutch ASAP and then just use the power to get going.... worked for him.....
I tried it and could get 10.539 @ 220kmph 's on the old girl. Best 60 ft mark was 1.8 dead
Never tried the 08 so gonna try that method first .........

I'll be there. I promise to use each one of my 31 horsepowers to set the slowest bike time of the night.
The clocks do measure minutes, don't they? ;-)

You kill me mate :) lol!
phil, awesome, 2000rpm it is.. there is a huge hole before 4k on our bikes.. really notice it if you gun the bike in 2nd...

ill chim in a little as well here ..
when i first went there i tried many different ways .. but this is what worked for me from some advice from a guy there running low 10's high 9's
roll upto the first orange stage light
then get yuor clutch sorted to friction point
lean over the bike
roll your hand over further towards the front of the bike (so you can technically shorten the distance to snap to full open throttle)
then foot on rear break just roll onto second stage light ..
wait fro you oppsite to roll onto the second stage light ..
then roll throtel to desired position/rev's for your launch
first orange
second orange (each of these lights are 0.4 second) so if your RT is 1 second go on the second light if it is 0.5 like mine once the second goes off GO !)
third orange
green !! or GO !
roll throttle to full open position ASAP
while feathering the clutch till released
then pre load second gear ready
shift
the pre load third gear ready
shift and repeat till end of quarter
seams like its all easy and is very much fun but most of this for me is happening under 11 second
hopefully tonight ill grab a mid 10 ..
for a 600 im pretty chuffed with that time .. lol
if you start to loop dont panic just rip on the clutch and it should smash back down ...
and always hover over rear break for saftey
mate if i nail full throttle on my blade in 1st ill come off ;) fucked if i know what to do, i presume they give you instructions re: lights!

nah not really man ..
just have a few runs then you will know you RT ..
you dont nail first with out the clucth feathering..
plus the forward leaning helps it stay down
as i said though this is for the 600 i dont know about the gorilla :)

When i used to take the 636 out i ran low 11's take off was at 6-7K rpm, i would smash the thousand's off the line but by the time they get into 2nd or 3rd they get you just before the line.
I always go on the third orange light as my reaction times aren't consistent.
I used to keep it just over the friction point so it was kreeping and keep her still with the rear brake, also helps keep the front down plus you know you hovering it too.
Not as much fun as the track but is good practice....
I took the old F4i stunter down the strip... pulled an 11.7 with a 60t sprocket...
(It was buzzing the limiter well before the traps)
on one of the launches I 12'd onto the bar and had to brake it down
the rest were pretty much 400 metre monos
and then they kicked me out lol

Wow... now that's a sprocket!! Do they even count the teeth when they get that large or just go 13"/14"/15" like they do with wheels??:lmao::lmao::lmao:
On more serious note, I'd like to give this a try at some point. Sounds like fun!:ayyy:

It's a shame that there are no other photos, as there's no shots of my afterburners firing, nitrous blast, turbo boost and wheelstand to the finish, thrashing the Fireblade. :-)
