Got this in an email, not sure how many people know about it already, probably a few?

I heard about this track and have done some investigations... It seems to be a fact, that this track does infact exsist on the central coast of NSW near Kulnura.

Information is a little scarce at the moment but i have confirmed that it infact belonging to Mr Dean Wills... the old CEO of Coca Cola. The track is a private track and i have learnt that it was infact build for him to flog his McLaren F1 and other toys he has to enjoy.

There is now poeple saying that HRT were rumoured to have had secret test days up there in the past...

http://users.tpg.com.au/panya47/TrackCC.JPG

The only information i can get at the moment, is that the track is around 4.4k's in lenth and is undulating and not flat.

Personally i can not believe (even knowing that it is a private track) that no one seems to know to much about this place... The track looks amazing and i would love to do some laps around it.

I have a few more pictures of the track coming my way in the next few days, i will post them up as soon as i get them.
i know where this guy lives i know who he is and i tell ya you are SH*T out of luck

this guy is a ghost and OH... He works for a major tobacco firm and has F1 cars on it and I know a couple of guys who stumbled onto the track by hiking through the bush ...MASSIVE GATES ,MASSIVE FENCES
and yeah if there is a big ass dog ...........your toast

Is this for real ? We need all the tracks we can get. To have one built & not be able to use it sux! I know there are plans for a track to be built in Raymond Terrace but its taking years & years to get council approval. I signed a petition about 8 years ago to support it & still nothin.

Must have cost the bloke millions. mmmmmm to be rich!

Well its definetly on google earth & also google map. The track surface looks a little sketchy when you zoom in so might be an unfinished project. layout look great too.

To get there you turn off George Downes Dr, between Kulnura & Central Mangrove, onto Barnes Rd.

Too right, Troy Bayliss is one recent example.

anyway that guy who owns that track isnt just rich, to build you own racetrack is just freaky... I know Stoners parents moved him to Europe to concentrate on racing but yeah, you dont have to be rich to do that.

I acually looked into the first stage of builing a track (going halves with a mate), honestly, your not going to get much for a mil and the loan repayments alone V.s the income means you need half down, otherwise dont expect to profit until 10 years. Not to mention marshals, insurance etc etc etc...

The only way we could remotely afford it is if we had a billion dollar company which could some how write off the tracks losses which is somehow linked back to the main company. Splitting it 4 ways was another option but got even more complicated... They are giving land away in QLD but I doubt they will let you build a track on it.

One thing worth mentioning, if he can afford to build a track, he's a smart cookie and wouldnt leave himself open to a law suit. Imagine you knocked on his door, he said year sure its 2K per day, have as many as 35 bikes/cars.

One or more people seriously hurts themselves or dies, sues and what does he get for his kindness, a lawsuit all for 2K. If he can afford to build his own track, I doubt he is going to be concerned about 2K in one day- he probably makes that anyway.

Sorry to be a downer, and as great as it looks and as much as I would be in for asking the owner, its what I would do if I were in the situation.

Our best bet is to hope the owner is some sort of overseas CEO or something and is hardly ever there. Then just sly it from there.

Thats one good thing about Motor X bikes, you can make your own track!

Even if you broke in and someone killed themselfs you could still sue , Hence the large fences.... The way around that is to have permission from the owner on legal documents through a solicitor , and you sign a waver to sign your life away basicly.....

I heard about this a few years ago. Apparently there are a few other private tracks scattered across NSW which are obviously owned by very high-net worth individuals. Even if you had the land and $$$ to do this, getting a DA/DC etc would be a real headache these days (unless of course you had good connections :doggy: )

The cost of building a track is well into the millions and as Marcus said, to set foot on there would present the owner with potentially huge legal issues if something went wrong. Hence I suspect it's only used by their associates etc.

Nice to dream though..

Yeah, it's into the several millions, true.... but also Golf Courses are in the several millions, though, and they are everywhere... :(

Let's assume that to build a serious track we should invest 6 to 10 millions, for buying the land, design, laying the track down + the basic facilities etc.

Do you see as not possible to gather 1000 members (in a 4.5 million city like Sydney) that invest 10'000 bucks each as initial membership fee??? :confused1:
Similar to golf... then we'd need a PRO to tun the PRO-Shop....

I'd be in, I tell you!

I went out to that track for a bit of a looksee about a year or so ago i think it was, with the president of a local CAMS affiliated car club, curiosity was a major draw, also if the place was the goods, somehow we'd try and contact him and see if we could organise an event or something.

The guy is waaay close to neighbours. Only a few hundred metres, tops. and there is sod all run off. Lots of roadside furniture, like, um, bigarse eucalypts. Hence, would be unlikely to qualify for a track licence for anything anyways. Not to mention a racemeet may piss off the neighbours.

DUnno, WRT the newy track proposal, the thing is still somewheres tied up with the land and environment court. The council requested more time for somethingorother, and they got it, not sure when the court will reconvene. The big issue is the dragstrip attached to the plans. Also a few issues with protected flora. And the fact that the dragstrip may interfere with some of this protected flora.

The club that owns the property may have a plan B up its sleeve, but I'm not sure how much I can say publicly.

what new track?

Cliff's Notes: -

Back in about 01, long story short, a developer approached a club that owns a block of land north of newey. Dealio was, that in exchange for leasing a chunk of said block to developer for a dragstrip (going to be the best thing since sliced bread, international spec etc - this predated WSID by a coupl years) that developer would fund the building of a short (say 2.2-2.5km) track due to the nature of the property would be similar in nature to say amaroo, or wakefield.

DA was presented to council and received resistance for a long period of time, was withdrawn due to major issues and resubmitted some time later, with the focs being on a club oriented sized thing. Many more issues, problems with a dangerous intersection thatt he RTA is not keen to upgrade, to issues with flora and fauna to NIMBYs. One would hazard a guess that if the DA did not have a dragstrip attached that the issues and resistance encountered would not be so vast, as club level motorsport has taken place here for over 20 years with nary a complaint. But noise limits of 95dB(A) at 30m are a far cry from a blody drag strip. (which incidentally always tend to run at night - when the noise will carry and disturb the local bumpkins)

Ended up about 2 years ago I thinK? hitting the LEC. Still in there somewhere in amongst the red tape...

is all a bit "Move along folks, nothing to see here..." Hopefully things will change for the better though, but hey, it's been like nearly 8 years, so forgive me if I am not that optimistic.

Yep got all that but I think you could still sneak in from the bush side on the right of screen. Motards would be go as theres a lot of bush to get around.
lets not get carried away with talking about building a track. Lets just bust into this one. If we get say about 10 of us 1or 2 will get busted. But that also means that 8 or 9 will get away.:lmao:

Yeah, I saw it on Google Earth and the design is fantastic... looks great...
unfortunately I can't see any run-off areas and there's too many trees within reach :cursing:

The main straight is over 700 metres and you'd get at the end of it well over 200 kph.... not having run-offs isn't funny :confused1:

As I said....
let's put 500 2wheels members together and 500 4wheels members keen to buy the place and we make a private "Racing Club"
With the initial membership fee you get
- Free ride days whenever you want (2 or 4 wheels doesn't matter),
- access to the facilities (meeting rooms, convention center etc)
- discounted rates for training courses to be held at the track
- free girls (no maybe notthis one) :lmao:

You know, in defence of some of the comments when you run companies that's just the way you think; sure most probably nothing will come from it, doesn't matter. You conceive ideas, run with them for a while and if they're winners they gather momentum. In this case I also think it's feasible based on DanOz's model, and if it were to become a reality I'd throw 10 grand in.

However, I would be reluctant to be involved in setting it up as riding is my fun / relaxation; a good way to ruin your riding enjoyment is to make a business out of it or, worse still, get involved in the politics of it. Well let's say it's a risk, I shouldn't generalise as some people get a lot out of such activities, to the benefit of us all.

Now the swingers club is something else..... :doggy:
