MA licence will cover you for the St George series. Bummer they don't accept AASA licences, as I'd like to avoid MA if at all possible.

:welcome: to RATs. Hope to catch up with you at Wakefield. Interesting bike!
Kevin Curtain set to ride, Yammie Oz as well... I am having second thoughts now.. I will be way out of my leauge regardless of the so called A,B,C & D grades. We will all be gridded up nxt to each other... What times are the real fast guys doing?
I am expecting to do a 1.05-6??

Ahh Slac, you haven't lived until you've been lapped by Kevvie, on the rear wheel with the front waving in the air. My first race meet that happened. It's all good.

If the day is right, he should be either just under or just over a minute - FX normally runs for 8 laps so you should be ok. :)

if you can pump 1:05's then ur top 10 easy!
if you are doing 1:15 then yes you will get lapped
I'll be there in FX600, yeeeew!

Too many mods will keep me out of the FX 600 class...... 3 rounds of St George only. Whoop-di-doo!
Falco, same for me :( no FXlites :(
Kinda shit really unless you wanna run against the 1000s

09-02-2010, 01:37 PM
Falco & Kris, just out of curiosity, what have you guys done to your bikes that will make them ineligible? Or at least not too difficult to undo?
changed the rear shock... removing that would mean my front is stiff (springs/valves) and the rear stock - completely shit.
Id have to revert to totally stock suspension or change the rear shock for a revalved standard unit...(actually, given the std rear is out I could actually get this done)
Ive also got a full exhaust system..

Oh well, I suppose that'd do it then. If you were determined to grid up, it wouldn't take a lot of money but it seems like you'll kick off at the St George round then?

who cares, you won't come last
If I ever get fast enough, my bike will only qualify for Formula OZ. Also I thought that you can have an aftermarket rear shock and fork cartridges in FX Lite.
Dan, ha! real incentive :D

3 rounds at ST George. Can't really call that a series can you. I'll be out in Formula Oz by the looks of it, on an old k3 600. Don't worry about the thou's, they're just compensating for something.(so I tell myself to make me feel better.

good news, i can run D grade again, yeeeeeeeeeeeeeew
Marshy
17-02-2010, 01:43 PM
Yeah good news for you Dan, and others like Phil and Rob, but terrible news for us REAL D graders, who will be swamped with C graders all competing in D grade again. I've posted this to Terry, who's response could best be paraphrased as "tough titty, too bad so sad." So I'm voting with my feet on this one and not entering in FX, at least for the first 2 rounds. I'm annoyed now that I already gave him $75 for the race number registration and DVDs....

Hey Nick, you should be right mate!
I'd say Cru won it everytime last year, but it was all over the place for the rest of us.
With a lot more D graders entering this year i think it's going to be very competitive!
You are similar speeds to Phil and he brings home a trophy almost every round, so i hope you change your mind :)

But everyone that was really good in D grade last year are BACK IN D GRADE AGAIN. Faaarrk me. What a con job. Me thinks Terry is looking after some vested interests, and is also trying to stick it to MA because he feels MA took too long to get the grading notices out. I reckon two months before the season starts is plently of time, but Terry disagrees. He is only interested in his own grading system to be introduced in 2011, which is fair enough from his point of view I suppose. Besides, what does he care about who is graded where, so long as the entries come in. I wonder whether MA licence holders will also be graded under Terry's system, or whether you specifically need an AASA licence.....? :stirthepot:
I repeat, great for you and everyone else in NSW that got graded up, which is probably more than are left in D like me, so the majority will be happy that their new grading is disregarded for the full 2010 season. But mug punters like me that were looking forward to a slightly fairer battle this year are being solidly shafted. I stand by my decision.

Dan, how did you stay D grade, I haven't seen Terry's new licence form out yet, have I missed it and/or did he say if you are C with MA license but only upgraded mid last year (which was an absolute joke that made people competing in D grade series ineligible to stay in a D grade series half way through) it wouldn't count for his series? Quite a few people effected by that crazy MA move last year, any info appreciated.

Hahhaaha yep, it might be a while. St George for sure (mid April), and the EC rounds of FX most likely. Doubt I'll travel but. You'll be an old(er) man by the time we square off Paul, at the rate I'm going!!!! Maybe I should get me one of these old-school 7s or Ts that seem to be hot-to-trot at the moment.....

Ok got the answer, FX is based on your grading with MA at Dec 1 last year, so if you were upgraded at MA after Dec 1 you stay the lower grade, if before, you stay the higher grade.

No matter what grade you're in there will always be a new group of young guys in D grade who will be quicker anyway so it doesn't really matter.

Yeah, is it really worth it for a $15 trophy?
Shouldn't you just be racing for fun? It's D grade not World Superbikes.
