Did the TD at EC last Saturday with GP Racer's (as mentioned in 180 vs 190) I went up to a 190 rear. I certainly got T2 and T9 more sorted, so much so that once I get through the apex on T9 while rolling on the throttle the front is lifting.

I'm no great rider, I only get my knee down when I part company from the bike.:lmao:

Is this usual or do I need to get more weight forward?

Cheers Fog

Pulling back might help, but dont stop quickly or you might get a slow guy up your arse !! :dohsmiley:

But whats most disturbing is knowing Johnny is watching all your moves...... :spank:

Just short shift on exit.
the torquey bit of the next gear will keep it down.

When I exit T9, and if I get hard on the gas ... whilst not having my body down on the tank then the front certainly lifts up a bit. It also does it on T12.

Thanks Guys:ayyy:

Ripper, I already short shift out of 2 into 3 but haven't done it out 9 because of the longer run up to 10

Jase yeah the roll off for a split second seems the obvious cure.

I'm CSS on the 10th I try the short outta 9:ayyy::ayyy::ayyy::ayyy:

+1

Also a tweak of the rear suspension might help any transition from front to rear which can help put the power down better...

roll off throttle??? Noooo... Hold it on and use the rear brake!

Stu23
13-11-2009, 12:32 PM
Shift your body forwards, keep on the gas, use the rear a touch if you can......mines always liftin on the gas in 2nd, can control it with body position......good fun to experiment...

wat no 1 has ever been pulled in b4 for wheelies????

Mr.Ed
13-11-2009, 03:18 PM
I honestly never saw that happen... I even had a marshal wheeling all the way down to T4 in front of me once. Then again I haven't done that many TDs to be honest... less than 10 I'd say.:confused1:

That I have never seen done, although that doesn't mean that it never happens. I doubt anyone would say anything about a little power wheelie coming out of a turn ... it's when it becomes a massive wheelie, that goes on for 100m that it becomes an issue. Or so they always say at the riders' briefing.
Being too hopeless to do wheelies, it's never happened to me :lmao:

I got a 1000 coz I wanted it to wheelie, and I must admit to being a bit disappointed. It will loft the front in second, but not that far. I thought I would be struggling to keep the front down, but that's not the case at all.

However from all I've seen, you could sell the front wheel on a Kwaka 10 coz you won't be using it. The other 1000s are pretty civilised.

Ive mono'd down to T10 a few times having a play...but the Marshal did give me a bit of a dirty look, so I told myself off .... tut tut....

Around a 1:43 on the third lap(i'm impressed).

I can't believe the lack of gear changes!
They should just make 1000's autos.
