it appears he was in such a rush to get to the back (you can see him riding over the rumble strip separating the pit lane and the front straight)when he opened the throttle the tyres (asymmetrical ones - I can't remember what side is harder at Valencia) were cold and let go and over he went.

i may have just been seeing things but before the warm up lap while sitting on the grid they showed an onboard shot of stoners bike from under the fairing looking at the front tyre & to me it appeared there was something on the front tyre, anyone got it taped have a look see & report. I hate to think he just f#%$ed that one up. Reminds me of David Coulthard in F1 a few years back on the warm up running straight on in to a tyre wall DOH :Kat00::Kat00:

I was gutted when I saw that. I didnt even watch the race. Once he fell that was it for my. I really wanted him to finish the year on a great note. With what he has been through over the last 6 months, a good last race would have done wonders for his spirit.
I think the kid is a bloody champinion!!!
Good luck next year, as we might have another Aussie world champ...

He is a champion and absolute talent, no doubt about it. He can do what Melandri, Hayden and Capirossi can't do with that bike and they are not exactly mug punters!

I don't see how it changes anything. He is a previous World champ and a real good shot at being World champ again. He rides that Ducati like no man ever has before and it's bloody dangerous compared to Golf, Tennis etc. He should earn much more IMHO.

Perhaps I explained myself poorly ... yes he's a champion, extremely talented etc, deserves the $$$$, but the response to any criticism was along the lines of 'give thepoor kid a break, he's young, he's giving it a go' etc. When you're earning 5 million a year, well, things chnage a little, you're no longer seen as a young bloke giving it a go. Do you know what I mean? If you're happy to get paid like the big boys, then you've gotta cop any criticism like the big boys.
