So with everyone upgrading from LAMS bikes to 600's over the past fortnight, our trailer arrangement no longer works as the bikes are much bigger... I was wondering if anyone has fit two sports bikes in a 6x4 box trailer before? It would certainly make life a lot easier if they fit...:ayyy:

Cheers guys!

With the sides of a box I think you have to put one rear facing and then only if you are lucky with regards to the exhaust.

I tried with a ZX7r and FZ1 and couldn't make it work, that was partly because I was loading the bikes on my own so said FZ1 stays at home.

Honestly ditch the 6 x 4 and get a 7 x 5 trailer.

depends on the bikes... mate has an open 6x4 and we can fit a gsxr750 and cbr6 in together (no room for error!) but not x2 750s.

its the reason i got a 8x5. heaps of room to move.

I agree 100%

I used to do it all the time with CBR600 and FZR400 - but you really need to tie them leaning to one side slightly to stop the handlebar ends hitting and the rear overhangs so tailgate needs to be removable - I also upgraded to a 8x5

Short answer is yes - but it's a PITA

I don't mean this to be a stupid question, but If you already have a box trailer and the bikes.. then why wouldnt you wheel them on and try it...

Its the easiest way to get your answer (and I imagine the only real way to find out for sure...)

I reckon you can do it Pict (ask away BTW).
As an (amateur) sailor, you learn to make do with the least possible. Have you seen my baby trailer? It's 4 x 3.5 - The manufacturer tells me they often fit two bikes on that, so your one should be no problem. You'd need to modify it a little, but that's all part of the fun!

PS. the 6x4 easy-trailer takes 2 bikes ... http://www.easytrailer.com.au/folding_trailer_info.html
you might want to fit two arms out the side. I have fitted them to the extension, as I only have the one bike:

Some say that you don't even need to secure them this way, that the tyre-down will do.

Yeah, I've seen your trailer, it definitely looks the part !

We usually use a the Ghetto™ model Kennards trailer, which does the job but is definitely more suited to dirt bikes..

Apparently not, two have broken already :lmao:
If the local motorcycle industry wasn't so bloody expensive, maybe I would afford better equipment :stirthepot:

i've got a 7x4 box and it holds two sports bikes side by side no problem.

one facing rearwards and one forwards ? What do you use for tie down points ?
