Its not too flash, but should do the job nice enough without scratching. Actually I went halves with BigB from this site too. heres what it looks like. (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Multi-Tyre-Changer-and-Bead-Breaker-Rim-Edge-Clamps_W0QQitemZ120114488528QQihZ002QQcategoryZ320 53QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

Will hopefully pick up one of those nomar bars once day to make sure its not possible to scratch the rim, maybe I wont need to.

Anyway, I'll try it out and will write up how it goes for a complete tyre changing novice.

Will do mate, I did pop something about RATs getting one back here (http://www.nswroadandtrackbikes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=731&page=2) but very few seemed too keen, maybe because the NoMar is so freaking expensive... fingers crossed this one goes well, its not too portable but couldnt be too hard to work out a bolt system to have it fit on a trailer.

I'll probably video a tyre change and send it to the FTP site, see if its what you want.

Edit: just to expend on why... I've got slicks now and can picture the cost in changing to and fro is just wrong... wasas thinking about a set of rims from the states but this works out better cause it the forecast is for rain the day before the track day I can now just change to street tyres and not have the stress of taking tyres off at the track.

Yes, let us know how it is. We are still considering buying one. How much was the one you got?

Bought it outside of eBay but off the same guy, $180 + $52 delivery (up from Melb) so split two ways was only $116.... how cheap is THAT !!!

Check out that no-mar video... its a very similar device, can't imagine it much harder bar the effort in not scratching the rim as its a steel ball not nylon like the no-nar (see here (http://www.nomartirechanger.com/V2/videohome.html)) and click on the tire change race :)

Oh, I should say anyone is welcome to use it once I have it setup, problem is I live down in Wollongong.. If you do want to use it then to help re-coup its cost just give us $20 the first time and you can use it forever for free.

Welcome to but pretty useless since I'm all the way down here. Locals it'll be good cause I'm hoping you can drop your tyres off (in the car) and next chance pop round and just change them.

Micks also like that.
He wakes up in the middle of the night and walks outside to his bike, undoes random bolts and torques them to factory manual specifications..

Nope, no balancer, am building up one off the web (static style), weights are easy to make by melting spare lead into small snap off sized shapes. I'll pic the whole setup once its done.

im lucky as i can just go down to westerns and do it all my self with both machines tyre change and weight balance. Pefrect tyre balance and such as i9 do it no marks on wheels.

If you pop down to your local tyre dealer most good quol mags come with a rim protector in the box that is just tosted when thay r finnished fitting up the tyres. Get him to hold onto them for you & never have a scratched wheel again.
