Update 7 Nov 2009 - Please don't attack the rider on this bike now. Bike was recovered.

Hi everyone.

The apprentice from SPM had his bike stolen last night from his home in Zetland/Rosebury.

Can you all be on the lookout for a CBR250RR Gun Metal grey and black.

It has a few SPM stickers on it.

The compliance plate is from Otabi.

There are white stains on the frame around and on the compliance plate like they had acid spilt on them. This would be the easiest way to identify the bike quickly.

Swingarm is polished.

Has a few scratches on the right fairing. Also has different indicators at the back.

REGO: SPF 31
VIN: 6MCH00MC221016299
Engine: MC14E1156332

Contact Police immediately and call the SPM workshop

So what do we do if we see it? Ring the cops and wait for them to do nothing?

Remember Wudka's experience with those bike thieves? He basically GAVE the cops the full heads up on a current operation and they did nothing. He had to organise everything himself.

If I saw the bike I'd be contacting SPM first and foremost and getting the REGISTERED OWNER to make an appearance ASAP. Hell, I'd wait next to the bike too.

i was in zetland on wed and it was parked on the street near the park, not wise to leave the bike on the street like that as I know 2 guys that live in the apartments, 1 of which has had his bike tampered with and thats inside the carpark!

Spot on Saf, I remembered that. Police had it handed to them and still were very ineffective.

Perhaps a Australian Rats Rapid Response Group ARRRG should be formed like in the UK where they ambushed and bashed a bike thief gang

If taken by pro's, unlikely it will be seen again, sadly, unless turned tracky, so pass the word around scrutineers, if your there over the weekend Jamesy. That staining on the frame would be hard to miss..

Hopefully taken by amateurs, and given what Kris saids on how it was left, its likely, so may just turn up dumped somewhere..

All good guys!

The bike turned up a few blocks away minus the exhaust and the hand grips!

Bike is now in the police impound lot waiting for finger printing on Monday.

Lucky boy. :ayyy:

There's no grounds to bash him.

A friend of mine had his bike stolen a few years ago. He had it at a mechanic's for repair and paid remotely and told the mech to leave the bike out on the street so he could pick it up after work when the mech was closed. The key was to be hidden nearby in some potplant or something.

He turned up and there was no bike. He rung the mech's mobile who said the bike was out the front , so on and so forth. Called the cops who didn't give a hoot ("Sure I'll check for fingerprints with the boys down at the crime lab, they've got another couple of detectives working on the case. They've got us working in shifts!") and ultimately he spent a few days pissed off thinking the mech had done the dirty. Turns out someone had literally wheeled it around the corner, dropped it on it's side and left it there.
