A big difference in paint quality from your 99 model. That thing is still in showroom condition, you buy a new one and its shit in 2000K's......but, built to a price I suppose.

Gotta remember Dave, no lead in the paint now and it is super thin. Know how u feel, remember my Gen 11 'Busa, 1500klms around the Oxley, Dorrigo etc and it had the sandblasted/stoneblasted look!!:storm:
There is a mob who put some clear plastic coating on & it supposedly works great. I'm getting it done on the new paint work for my Gen1 'Busa.
Some guy up Hornsby way or the Central Coast, I'll find his no. & give u a call.
Cheers,
Tex & Bundy

are you sure you could consider it normal wear and tear or maybe it could be some faulty paintwork, ir not enough hardener in the paint? ya cant go getting ya bike resprayed after every big ride dave.

Ventureshield protection film and you can get it from a place in Artarmon called Surfacetech (formerly OziCozi)

I've had it on the last 2 bikes and never had a stone chip

Knob-heads moving over the fog line when a few bikes come up behind them, flicking a shit load of crap all over the place is what done it.

On the way back along the Monaro at least 5 cars and a semi done this. Im sure the semi driver was hiding a huge smile cause when he dropped into the dirt it was like a sand blaster.

Not looking forward to washing my bike David.....we rode home together in that group.

Stetto was swearing by it on the putty ride last..

I was more hoping rather then swearing by it, a few tiny chips in it from the snowies, didnt have a real good look as i was contempt with the half arsed cleaning job i did after 1700kms, but it looks like the fairings are fine and its just the ducoscratch stuff that copped it :ayyy:
