View Full Version : Ford or Holden ute hire, Sydney?
Guys, anyone know somewhere in metro sydney i can hire a commodore or ford falcon ute. Im trying to stay away from the typical 1 tonne high back utes that most rental places rent out as its difficult to load into....
Something thats got a low back....or lower than those toyota styles..
I need it for tomorrow (CSS)
thanks

What level CSS are you doing?
Because with CSS, almost no-one uses warmers, race stands etc, you're not really going fast enough (certainly not L1 and 2), I would just ride out.
Captain, Level 1. The issue is my road bike is the only form of transport I have and its going to Sydney City tomorrow for some work so I have no other bike but the track bike... I know jasonbw mentioned theres no time for warmers but it takes 2minutes so I have no real choice... That and id rather be riding on my track bike....
I dont really want to warm up/cool down my track tyres all day long and chew through heat cycles even if I am going slow (which I most certainly will be)
Dont ask me what happened to my BMW :P

You don't have the towbar either, do you? So a trailer is out of the question?
Nup, no trailer :(
Ill just hire a ute this arvo...pity no one hires the sport style utes that a lower....

Level 1 is all about throttle control Kris.....your not allowed to use brakes for 3/4 of the day so worrying about warmers will just make you look like a bit of a tosser if you ask me.
Take your track bike, sure, just leave it on the side stand if it has one and concentrate on the drills and lectures as you wont be going fast enough to worry about heat in the tyres.
As for the ute, cant help you mate, maybe a van might be a tad lower.
Guessing a towbar and trailer should be at the top of your list of pretty pieces for the bike(s), ay.
Falco, im more worried about tyres heating/cooling therefore reducing their life but if thats not a worry ill forget the warmers! :)
Well, I ordered my tow bar but I wrote the BMW off last week so I'm carless ;)
Dont ask! :D

The speed you'll be riding Kris, the tyres won't warm up enough on track. If anything, if you're worried about heat cycles you will probably do more damage by heating them up on the warmers, only to have them cool off while you're riding (it's slow mate).
The problem is getting to the track it seems.

I wrote the BMW off last week
:dohsmiley:
Ohh, that sucks!
It does open the door for bike transport however.
