for those that have a controllable temperature setter, what temp should tyre warmers be set at?
i realize that it may vary depending on weather conditions, but be interested to know others opinions?

From what I have been told by a tyre tech you should never set your warmers higher than 70 deg.

I set them to 80, I have noticed most riders do the same ... but from what zRoYz is saying, maybe that's too high (although if by 'tyre tech' you mean those guys that fit tyres .....)
Different tyres and riding of course, but the motoGP warm their tyres to 80 degrees.

My Sportsbike warmers have no settings and operate at 75, that why I said 75 earlier in this thread. Not fust, some heat is better than none just not to much I suppose.

My warmers failed from constant use at 80 degs, so I'll you 70 on the next set as recommended by tyre fitters at the track.

From a technical perspective, I cannot see how 70 or 80 should make any difference to the life of the tyre warmer ... or why it should fail. Ozi, I accept that your warmer failed (as did mine once) but how do you know it did so because it was set to 80?

im at 75. but it always fluctuates between 73 and 78, but wots the point being exact spot on to a certain temp, if you are goin to line up for 3 mins at EC wating for recovery to grab someone, it could be down to mid or low 60's by the time you ge on track.

I have burnt 2 sets of chinese warmers (digital) set at 80c,bought from a mob in the US called podium racing.
now i have a set of Diamond from the UK non Digital and they are set at 95c,
the manufacturer assured me that they were fine set that high as even wet tyres could handle 130c. Only time will tell.

I started the day with them set at 70c but bumped them to 75c which "seemed" better.

I'm not a tyre expert so the reason why I would be just taking shit, BUT the info came from a tyre tech & Craig White will also tell you the same thing.
