Heard about the pillion on the Putty today :( Talk about being let down by someone. I hate being a pillion at the best of times but that is heavy. If you are in control of a a bike on the Putty rd (or any other rd) & have another persons life in your hands.................... you have so much responsibility resting on your shoulders, shit like this should not happen :(
Take care out there people.

James and I rode west on the M4, and he tells me that around Silverwater there was a sign advising drivers that the Putty was closed. Odd that it should be signposted that far away.

Went up the Putty today and heard the true story from the owner of Colo Heights servo as to what happened yesterday. A father and son were heading out for a rally the son had an epileptic fit on the back of his dads bike. The dad tried to hold on to him but to no avail.... He fell off, his dad stopped the bike and tried to resuscitate him but his injury's were so bad that he died at the scene. My heart goes out to his family as it was not rider error just a horrible unfortunate accident
RIP

Let's keep it for the track.

That's a nasty story....but i wouldn't take a pillion with a condition like that, no offence especially on such a long ride.

I did think that but then i also thought maybe it was his first attack? We really dont know..... just feel for his dad and family and for him of course....

too many, too often
+1
One rider down is too many, too often in my opinion.
Slow down guys, as it has already been said 5mins late is better than not getting there at all.
RIP and my thoughts and prayers are with the families of those that we have lost. Sad day for all.

Very sad situation. I feel deeply for the Dad... God thats a nightmare situation that I wouldnt wish on any one.
Epilepsy can be triggered by going through a bunch of trees in sunshine (strobe effect), but this isnt about second guessing at what might have happened I guess.
Ride safe everyone.

As a dad i feel very deeply for this poor family! What a shame! It just shows you how out of the blue things can happen. i also ride out to west head a lot and it was also tragic to here about the 62 year old who had the head on with the Kia. Be careful guys and gals, after all really we are just marshmellow with all these steel boxes wizzing around. Slow down be safe, I know its hard but wait for the track days. Just a couple of days ago I lost my front end and I thought here we go and luckily i got traction back. BE SAFE! RIDE SAFE! Steve
another one yesterday in the nasho, a guy died when his bike hit a rock face near flat rock creek.

The father and son from the Putty accident were headed to Murrurundi for the Vietnam vets memorial as that was the same place as Stocky and i went this weekend, we got diverted at Kurrajong and had to track across through St Albans.
A tragic weekend for motorcyclists , my thoughts go out to all the families
Ride safe friends
