Anyone in Newcastle with some free time today head to Redhead Beach if you want to test a Can Am Spyder.

Just did a quick run to the paper shop with my daughter & dog in the car & decided to check the beach on my way home.

The whole carpark is closed off & they have a semi trailer + about a dozen Spyders just sitting there. Leaving the beach I passed 4 bikes on there way so im assuming its a test ride for those who are interested.

Where's a huge can of mortein when u need it...

I don't get these things, if u want the feeling of riding a bike buy a bike, if u want the wind in your face but have no balance buy a convertible.

Each to there own i guess and it still beats owning or riding a HD... or a Honda...:stirthepot:

how do you hit a corner hard on those things if there is no lean??

I can see why you'd like it if you wanted to go touring with a small trailor to cart your stuff, but for the money you can get a car with more room for touring....

No idea? I think they lean dont they? I was hoping someone went along & could tell us all about it.
They had a pretty serious set up there. The truck, van, flags, girls etc. It looked like a bloody MotoGP team had come to town. It was weird, I just rolled into the car park & they had all this shit set up & no one was around.

:lmao: I read a report on them, apparently motorcyclists freak out at the first turn ... you naturally countersteer and the thing runs off the road .. :lmao:

:spank:
No thanks.

I think I know the guy you're referring to on the old road; he overtook me on the straight, then I passed him on the bends (I was in the mrs 4WD) :lmao:

Girl at work has one

She's about 4ft-nothing tall
so she can't touch the ground on a 'normal' sportbike at lights etc.

Yeah not for me. Two wheels = fun, 3 wheels = sleep.

You feel like you're about to get flung off in the other direction. Basically they're just massive quads, but with one rear instead of two. There's no point to the fuckers.

Forget the Spyder ... check out this thing:
French specials builder Lazareth have now come up with the Wazuma – a quad (four-wheeled motorcycle?) that’s fitted with a supercharged BMW V12, which produces 500 horsepower
