View Full Version : Pink Slip
Ok.
So rego time is nigh and I've only just realised ... :(
I have a loudish exhaust, flush mount blinkers, and an integrated blinker/brake tail light.
Anyone know of a place that will give me a pink slip with these mods?

Just take it to a car mechanic all they check is head stem bearing all light's and blinker's and rubber......
I use a guy in Padstow. Can tell they guy I use your worries and see if he will overlook them if you like?:ayyy:

As above... I'd be amazed if any car rego place didnt pass it... so long as there is tread on the tyres... and they can jot down an engine and chasis number..you'll be sweet

Yep, I take mine to the local car tyre place, they check my lights, blinkers and tread....
Cool beans.
I just went out to move the bike, one of my blinkers isnt working :cursing:
If it werent for the hassle of getting it to the track, i'd just make it a track bike instead of forking out for rego, when i only ride it on the road once a month.......

just had mine done at my car mechanic in North Rocks , He wrote down how many km's and then asked me to check blinkers whilst he stood behind . He said if he wanted to be a prick he could not do it as I have after market pipe and said "but I am not a prick" . If it is in your area PM me and i'll give you there number , they will pass for sure and if you did have a run in would just expect that you said you had stock pipe on when pinked .

I use the bloke at the ampol servo across the road from Milperra pub. He only checks lights. Where in Panania are you?

Midas opposite two wheels in Penrith on Henry street. They just give the bike a look over and see the lights work. My gixxer had intergrated tail and blikers in one. He asked if that was how the bike cae and i just said yep. Had the full race system on too.

I know that place.
I'm on the other side of the train line.
Might need to fit some working front blinkers, but I'll go to one of these places you have mentioned, exhaust doesnt seem to be a problem :)

my guy just asked does everything work, yes I replied, then he handed me the papers..
You need to build a relationship with a mechanic :)
Like when I get the car pink slipped, he punches the brake test machine and passes it.
Wanna go get my bike slipped senergy? :p

Is it 3 or 5 years now before you need a pink slip fo rego?
I'm in Weston St.
Ah nice.
I'm in Phillip St, down Lambeth. We're practically neighbours.
It's 5 years for a pink slip.
Anybody know how long they are valid for?

So I went to my mechanic to get a pink slip, unfortunately his business partner was there instead of my usual guy, told me he wont pink slip it with an aftermarket exhaust. Doesnt matter if its ADR approved he won't pink slip it...farkn great.
Lucky I had a backup Korean Mechanic who did it instead.

Haha, gotta love plan B.
I remember going to a servo with my car, it needed one tyre (apparently) luckily he just happened to sell them. I said im going to go somewhere else to get my tyre (but really to go somewhere else to get it done) he then gave me a white copy (from memory) saying it lasts 14 days. What ever i thought. Asked my mate when he got home as he was a mechanic but worked a long way away. He said you have to go go back as they will lodge the failed pink slip etc etc and all this BS would then happen. Scamming servo bloke.
