He has posted a time now. Fastest in the practice session & an unofficial lap record :notworthy:

The penultimate practice session for the 2009 Isle of Man TT Races saw perfect weather once more and what a night it turned out to be. Australian ace Cameron Donald unofficially shattered the outright lap record and a speed of 131.457mph was over eight and a half seconds inside John McGuinness’ lap of 130.354mph set during the 2007 Senior race. The night also saw Michael Dunlop smash the Supersport 600cc lap record with a lap of 126.290mph and he must now go into Monday’s race as one of the favourites.

Lower speeds in final practice at 2009 Isle of Man TT

http://www.iomtt.com/%7E/media/Secure/Press/Images/Gallery/TT%202009/Practice/010609/2nd%20TT%20practice%202009%202.ashx?mw=200

The final practice of the 2009 Isle of Man TT was a subdued affair after the fast-paced and scintillating evening sessions fans have been treated to this year.
Conditions were very different from other nights on Friday, with lower temperatures and a strong wind. There had been fears the session could be hit by rain, but instead there was sun and a blue sky, albeit with some cloud cover.
The star of Thursday night practice Cameron Donald and Manxman Conor Cummins were the first away. After Cummins came through with an average speed of 127.020mph, Honda-mounted Gary Johnson upped the pace with a 127.794mph.
Still basking in the glory of his unofficial lap record 131.457mph from Thursday, Donald was out on the TAS Suzuki superstock and had looked on course for a good lap. TT Live! Subscribers watched him average 127.5mph to Glen Helen, upping his pace to 133mph by Ballaugh, blasting through the Sulby speed trap at 178mph and reaching Ramsey Hairpin at an average speed of more than 137mph.

However, word soon filtered through that Donald had come off at Keppel Gate and been taken to hospital by airmed – an update on his condition is expected later.

The practice continued, with Cummins putting in another encouraging lap on his Kawasaki superbike, this time at 127.588mph, marginally faster than Ian Hutchinson had managed on the Padgetts Honda superbike.
However, neither could touch Johnson’s time from his first lap, which was good enough for second place.
With Donald out, his teammate Bruce Anstey not taking part in the session and John McGuinness not pushing on the superbike, honours for fastest speed of the night went to Hydrex Honda’s Guy Martin.
He set an average time of 129.013mph on his second lap out, and was fastest through Sulby with a 187.5mph.
James Hillier produced one of the surprises of the evening, notching up a 186.9mph through the Sulby speed trap, the fastest superstock of the night.
However, the fastest superstock lap of the night went to Honda’s Steve Plater, at an average 126.938mph, 1mph faster than second-placed Hutchinson.
McGuinness was fourth in the class with a 123.873mph.
Plater was also on form on the supersport, with a 123.162mph, but the Yamaha R6 of William Dunlop topped the timesheets 123.345mph.
When the sidecar session got under way it was Manxmen Dave Molyneux and Nick Crowe led the field away, followed by the outfits of John Holden, Tim Reeves and Klaus Klaffenboch.
Crowe and passenger Mark Cox were first through, with a 114.442mph. With Moly and Dan Sayle only lapping at 101.07mph and pulling in, it took Crowe’s rivals a little time to get close to his early time, but no one could better it.
Phil Dongworth and Gary Partridge came closest with a 113.355mph, followed by Tim Reeves and Patrick Farrance with a 112.09mph. Reeves and Farrance did have the honour of fastest Sulby speed trap time, at 143.4mph.
At the end of the final session it was announced a decision will be taken at 7.30am on Saturday about the schedule for the first race day of the 2009 TT, which could be impacted by the poor weather predicted.

TAS Suzuki confirm Donald out of the 2009 TT

http://www.iomtt.com/%7E/media/Secure/Press/Images/Gallery/TT%202009/Practice/040609/CAMERON%20DONALD%20SETS%20FASTEST%20EVER%20LAP.ash x?mw=200 http://s9.addthis.com/button1-share.gif (http://www.addthis.com/bookmark.php)

Two-times TT winner Cameron Donald is out of the 2009 Isle of Man TT, his team has confirmed.
The Australian, who on Thursday evening became the fastest person ever around the Mountain circuit, crashed during the final practice session on Friday.
Just 24 hours after lapping at an average speed of more than 131mph, Donald slipped off his Suzuki GSX-R1000 Superstock machine at Keppel Gate.
A statement from the TAS Suzuki team explained the Melbourne resident missed a gear, forcing him to run wide onto the grass.
He did his best to stay on-board, but eventually crashed on the uneven surface, dislocating his left shoulder and suffering a minor back injury.
Team principal Philip Neill confirmed the crash had ended Donald’s involvement in this year’s TT.
He said:

‘We’ve certainly been brought down to earth with his incident. Thankfully Cameron wasn’t seriously injured, but is obviously disappointed to be out of this year’s TT.’
‘Bruce Anstey has also had a phenomenal practice week on his stable of GSX–R machinery, and is quietly confident of adding to his TT tally.’
‘We will continue to give Bruce everything he needs, and hopefully our close knit team can put a smile on Cameron’s face with a Relentless Suzuki win.’

No weekend racing at 2009 Isle of Man TT

There will be no racing this weekend at the 2009 Isle of Man TT, officials have confirmed.
After a scintillating practice week, Saturday was scheduled to see the first races of the festival – the Dainese Superbike TT and the first Sure Sidecar race.
However, strong winds and heavy rain led to an announcement at 7.30am on Saturday that the day’s racing had been postponed. There were hopes the programme could be switched to Sunday, but with no improvement in the conditions expected, it was confirmed shortly before 10am that the racing would not be going ahead.
The poor weather had already seen the eagerly anticipated visit to the TT by MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi postponed until Monday.
The Dainese Superbike and Sure Sidecar races will now take place on Monday – weather allowing - with the Superbike race starting at 11am. The Monday race programme, the Royal London 360 Superstock and first Relentless Supersport races, is expected to be re-scheduled for Tuesday.

Interesting to note that he did the 131.4 on his 08 GSXR1000 from last year. Seems they are having a bit of problems with the 09... considering they only got it a few days before hand its understandable.

McGuinness wins 15th Isle of Man TT

The blistering race action of the Dainese Superbike TT more than made up for the disappointment of Saturday’s programme being postponed due to rain.
There was no one to challenge John McGuinness as the HM Plant Honda rider dominated all six laps to take the win, set a new outright lap record and set a new race record.
His only real challenger was teammate Steve Plater, but McGuinness controlled the pace to take a comfortable win.
Plater finished second, with Guy Martin third.
It was a great celebration of Honda’s 50th anniversary of racing, the Japanese giant taking all three spots on the podium.
The top three were garlanded by MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi, who watched the race and is now on his lap of the TT course with fellow GP legend Giacomo Agostini.
McGuinness is now a 15-times TT winner, and set three 130mph+ laps on his way to victory – including a new outright lap record of 130.442mph on lap two, despite slowing down to pit.
TAS Suzuki’s Bruce Anstey retired at Ballacraine on lap one and after a good showing McAdoo Kawasaki’s Conor Cummins was forced out on the last lap, leaving Honda riders Ian Hutchinson and Gary Johnson to fight it out for fourth, with Hutchy taking the honours.

Hutchinson wins dramatic Relentless Supersport TT

http://www.iomtt.com/%7E/media/Images/Blogs/News/2009/06/09/DSCF4062.ashx?mw=200 http://s9.addthis.com/button1-share.gif (http://www.addthis.com/bookmark.php)

Padgett’s Honda star Ian Hutchinson has claimed his second Isle of Man TT win after the dramatic and record-breaking Relentless Supersport race 1.
Early favourite Michael Dunlop, who had set an unofficial lap record in practice, was out on lap one with a blown engine, and it was Hydrex Honda’s Guy Martin who took a narrow lead over TAS Suzuki’s Bruce Anstey, with Hutchinson in third.
At the end of lap one Martin smashed the 600cc lap record with an average lap speed of 125.375mph, while Hutchy moved ahead of Anstey to claim second.
On the second lap the Kiwi started pushing forward, moving past Hutchinson and taking the lead from Martin by Ramsey – Martin would later reveal his machine had developed mechanical problems, compromising his challenge.
Anstey finished the second lap in a stunning time of 17mins 53.23s, the first sub-18 minute lap for a 600 and an average speed of 126.549mph.
With Hutchinson now back in second, Martin was now occupied with fighting Craig Wilson Honda rider Keith Amor for the final podium position.
Anstey built his advantage up to more than 10 seconds on lap three and looked set for victory as Hutchinson tried to preserve his slim advantage over Martin.
However, with the chequered flag just minutes way, Anstey pulled over at Brandywell, with early reports suggesting the TAS Suzuki was out of fuel.
That left Hutchinson to secure his second TT win in a race record time, with Martin second and Amor adding a second Supersport podium to his TT record.
Speaking afterwards Hutchinson said:

‘Quite a lot of people win one TT, winning another feels a bit better.’ Martin added:

I’m over the moon to finish second. Wouldn’t normally be, but we had a bit of trouble with the bike on the second lap. I thought that was me. But it was still going at the end of the race, going like a train.’ Amor, who was promoted to third last year after Anstey was disqualified, said:

‘It is nice to finally get up on the podium. I have been trying for three years.’ The Royal London 360 Superstock race is due to start at 6.30pm.

Fuel sensor ends Anstey's Superbike hopes

http://www.iomtt.com/%7E/media/Images/Blogs/News/2009/06/09/DSCF3920.ashx?mw=200 http://s9.addthis.com/button1-share.gif (http://www.addthis.com/bookmark.php)

A fuel sensor failure forced Bruce Anstey out of the Dainese Superbike TT after just seven miles, his TAS Suzuki team has confirmed.
The Kiwi was among the favourites to challenge for a win in the opening race of the 2009 Isle of Man TT on Monday, but he coasted to a halt at Ballacraine on lap one.
The team revealed a lambda sensor, which measures the amount of oxygen in the fuel, failed on the GSX-R1000, putting him out of the race.
Anstey said:

‘I’m obviously disappointed as I was feeling quite confident today. What happened is no one’s fault and something that cannot be legislated for.’
‘I did a couple of practice laps in the afternoon on my ‘stock GSX–R1000, so fingers crossed we can have a good day.’ Team Principal Philip Neill added:

‘The TT so far has been a roller-coaster for us: we are either on top on nowhere at the minute, and this place is all about overcoming the gremlins.’
‘We have put in a big effort, so now we deserve a bit of good fortune. I’m a bit disappointed after today as I felt we had a very good chance of success on the GSX–R1000 Superbike.’
‘Bruce was forced to retire, but we have tomorrow’s races to look forward too now and Bruce should be right up there challenging in both.’

Hutchinson and Martin star in Superstock thriller

http://www.iomtt.com/%7E/media/Images/Blogs/News/2009/06/09/DSCF4133.ashx?mw=200 http://s9.addthis.com/button1-share.gif (http://www.addthis.com/bookmark.php)

The Royal London 360 Superstock TT delivered one of the fastest, closest and most dramatic races imaginable as the 2009 Isle of Man continued.
After securing his second TT victory earlier in the day, Padgett’s Honda rider Ian Hutchinson made it two in a day with a win on the 1000cc Fireblade.
However, he had to fight for every second of the four lap race, battling his way up from fourth, overcoming a seven second deficit and securing new lap and race records on his way to the win.
John McGuinness took an early lead and smashed the Superstock lap record on lap one with an average speed of 128.422mph.
Despite his massive speed, McGuinness held a lead of just 0.95 seconds over Hutchinson after 37.73 miles of racing. Hutchy was just 0.9 seconds ahead of third placed Keith Amor, whose gap to Guy Martin, in fourth, was just 0.45 seconds.
There was more heartbreak for TAS Suzuki’s Bruce Anstey, who pulled into the pits on lap one and retired.
As the leaders reached Glen Helen on lap two it was Martin who had moved to the front, now 0.23 seconds ahead of Amor. By Ramsey it was Hutchy in the lead, but by an incredibly slim margin of just 0.5 seconds from Martin.
At the end of lap two the riders were in the pit, but not before Hutchinson set a new lap record for Superstocks, at an almost unbelievable 129.212mph. However, any advantage was erased by a slow stop, which saw Hutchinson leaving the Grandstand seven seconds behind Martin. McGuinness also had a slow stop, allowing teammate Steve Plater to move ahead of him.
Despite the setback, Hutchinson clawed back a staggering four seconds by Glen Helen, and kept motoring to get the gap down to just 0.3 seconds by Ramsey.
At the end of one of the most thrilling laps ever, the gap between Martin and Hutchinson at the start/finish line was just 0.04 seconds! At Glen Helen it was back to 0.88 seconds and at Ballaugh 1.2 seconds in favour of Martin.
However, at Ramsey Hairpin, Hutchinson had reeled in and passed Martin, now 1.26 seconds ahead.
He built on that lead to move 5 seconds clear at the Bungalow and winning by 8 seconds – as well as setting another lap record for the Superstocks of a massive 129.746mph!
Speaking afterwards Hutchinson said:

‘Not a bad day. I could do with two races tomorrow, I’m getting used to it.’Martin added:

‘So near yet so far. Second again, it’s no good. What a race. There’s no excuse, Hutchy was on it. I think I lead half the race, but he was going hammer and tongs.’Amor secured third place, his third TT podium, and second podium today.
He said:

‘That was hard work. Really, really hard work, but a really enjoyable race.’

TT is mostly about top speed, something the 675 doesn't have compared to other bikes. Give it few more years of racing (it's in 2nd year instead of decades like honda) and I'm sure it will get better.

I know what you mean, but the bikes they race will not be in shops for another 10 years. Suspension, engines etc... so there's no point comparing race results with the bikes that sell on showroom floor.

I wouldn't mind if they sold the exact same race bikes at a local dealer for ~15k, I know which one I would get then.

Tou can go down to relentless Suzuki and buy the exact spec spec bike off them. Same as the others.

None of these are factory based.. just aftermarket bikes and one of the local UK tuning shops.

Mc Guiness runs small front discs BTW some 25mm smaller dia to get it turning quicker and he has really wide bars and pegs to handle the ludicrous high speed jumps.
