Hi all,
I am getting my bike painted up at the mo' by Muzz and I'll need a new rubber seat pad before I hit the track again.
Last time I bought some from Clarke rubber and hacked it into shape (sort of).
Is there a supplier that everyone uses for this purpose? Do Wetty or Racers Edge sell this stuff?
Thanks
James

Depends on the race fairing.. if it has a good seat base then go a carpet tile or foam... if you need to shape it then you were onto a good thing,, various thicknesses of clarke rubber, shape it using a VERY serrated long bread knife (works bloody well) or electric bread knife.
Glue the foam pieces together (doesnt matter how rough) using contact adhesive, then when your happy with the shape lay a very fine layer (3mm is good) of foam over the very top and it'll contour and look outstanding... plus it'll be the exact shape you want.

:ayyy: Thanks mate - I'll drop my my local clarke rubber tomorrow. The 3mm top layer is a very good idea

Racers edge don't do seats but they told me what they use, go to Clark Rubber & but the rubber like material link none slip tile (the tiles have edges that lock into each other). The surface has little raised bumps & tile is about 20mm thick & cost about $10. Mark out shape you want then cut with jig saw & use rubber glue to slick on fiber glass.

Thanks for the offer Mozzie but I went to Clarke Rubber today and got some 12mm and some 6mm as well.
Might use that image on the italian site to cut mine to shape with the old electric breadknife.
Thanks all :ayyy:

Cool, post up pics once your done, you may well be inspiring a few others! It's suprising how important the seat is to staying "locked on" to the bike... if you get it right your knees will be locked into the indents on the tank which means for a more stable bike in many ways. Just by changing the seat! Enjoy!
